We wil be at WDW for our anniversary. I am planning on doing MK on that day so we could eat at Cinderella's. I originally was going to do lunch in the castle, but as I was trying to fit Chef Mickey's into our schedule I thought we might do Chef Mickey's breakfast on our anniversary and then Cinderella's for dinner.

We like to do the character breakfasts late as a sort of brunch. I am going to try to get PSs for 11 am. So, what time should I make dinner reservations for Cinderellas? I was thinking for 5 pm. We should be hungry by then. But then I was thinking would it be more "magical" to have dinner later in the evening? Can you see wishes from inside the restaurant??? We would be able to see wishes on another evening from the outside, so that would be ok. Plus, we have seen it before.

I would like to make this anniversary as special as possible, but we are not the romantic giggly type of people. Plus the kids are with us. We would find it special just to be eating in the castle at WDW on our anniversary. But then I keep thinking, what if ????? If we make late PSs, we would have to eat some late lunch somewhere in addition.

Let me hear your opinions.

Hi
Sorry this is long!
We had our 30th Ann. dinner at Cindys. I have to tell you we made later PSs so we could watch the fireworks.
Got there and told them we would like a window seat and that we would wait if we had to, because it was our Ann. dinner and we wanted it to be speical( it was stated on our PSs too).
Well we waited, and waited our PSs where for 7:30 I think and we didnt get in there until around 8:30.
This would have been fine IF we got the window seat that was in the front(facing the marry go round).
They actually started seating us there I was in the seat and then the waitress came and said there was a mistake and they had a BETTER seat for us.
Ok we didnt know the castle and knew they knew it was our Ann. so we thought they knew a better spot, so we went to where they wanted us to sit.
Well it was on the side the view was PART of the marry go round and part the building itsself. I thought Ok maybe the fireworks are seen better from here, But no... the other seat was the best view in the place.
This was a really bad seat,,, I dont know why they did this.
Maybe because the other table was for four and the one they gave us was for two, so they could get a bigger party in, but WE waited a LONG time for this and it WAS our Ann.
We also got no sp. attention that everyone speaks of.
VERY DISSAPOINTED

Wishes can be seen from Cindy's..just make sure you make your reservation about 60+ minutes before the firework show as it can be a long wait for a seat.

with all due respect to the previous poster, I would not expect any special treatment for seating or such. You DID in fact get a window seat...maybe not the best, but a window seat.

You must understand that CM see literally HUNDREDS of people each day that are celebrating something special be it anniversary, birthday, honeymoon...if they seated every 2 party at a 4 party table for a "Special" view, wait times would be longer and more people upset.

I think it is unfair to judge a restaurant ( that has VERY little seating to begin with ) in the middle of a very busy park to seat a 2 party at a 4.. I know that my 4 party would have been upset!

but..that is just MHO!

Yes.. I would agree, but they should not have put us there and then moved us to a BAD table, because we DID wait an hr. for a good seat.

For an anniversary dinner I'd prefer California Grill over Cindy's. The mood is very romantic, the food is better and you can see the castle from practically everywhere in the restaurant. And at CG if you aren't lucky enough to get a window seat you can just go out to the patio for an awesome view of the castle & wishes. Cindy's is WAY overrated and it's not worth dealing with the hassles that it causes.

Cindy's would be better for the kids, but it's your anniversary. If they are reasonably quiet and well behaved they should be fineat CG.

You could also try your originally scheduled 5PM meal at Cindy's and then head over to CG for an anniversary dessert later on.

I agree that the CG is WAYYYYYY better for "romantic" dinner. It is my first choice...see my pic link and you can see a picture ( albeit, blurry) of the park below us.
The food is much better and much easier to get a window seat, or at least closer to a widnow seat.

But, the castle does hold a special feel..."Dining in a castle"

..BE CAREFULL to check what time the Wishes is for the night you go...it does no good to make all the arrangements if the park is open late and the fireworks are not set for your dining time!!

When making my Ps's last week, I was told by Disney Dining that Wishes cannot be seen very well at all from the windows in CRT. She said that the old fireworks display could be seen well but that the new Wishes are set off more from the roof so are much harder to view from the windows. She said we may want to plan our time so we finish eating just prior to Wishes and then go outside to view them. Just an FYI if you have your heart set on seeing ALL of the Wishes display.

Thanks for all your replies. As I tried to make clear in my original post, we aren't looking for special treatment. We are really just happy to be at WDW during our anniversary. We really have no particular desire to see Wishes from the window seat. We have seen it before and hopefull will see it again. I was just wondering if there was ANY advantage to making the later PS than my original 5 pm PS and wanted some input on that. I think that I may just keep my original plan of 11 am Chef Mickeys and a 5 pm Cinderellas.

Thanks for the tips on California Grill, but I think that is a little too gourmet for us.

We had our anniversary dinner around 5 and were seated within 15 minutes at a table sprinkled with pixie dust. Depending on your kids ages they may enjoy that as well. We went, like you, just happy to be at disney for our anniversary, except, well, we left the kids at home. Our table was not by the window, but they did go out of their way to make our day special and the attention and suprise gift at the end was delightful and unexpected.

We often do the late breakfast/early lunch thing combined with an early dinner and like it that way. I think that morning we had eaten at the Kona Cafe around 10-10:30.

I would agree with everyone else who suggested CG for your anniversary dinner. It is a little loud at times, but the food and the view can't be beat!
DH and I ate there on our honeymoon and again on our trip in October. Our server was fantastic and didn't hurry us from our window seat so we could enjoy the fireworks (even though we were done our meal).
My sisters and I are dining at CG twice on our upcoming trip!

DisneyDmbNut - I am a DMB nut too! I just got confirmation for my show tickets for July!
