This was our second time at Cape May, the first about 2 years ago and my DH was less then impressed. We had cancelled our Yak and Yeti ADR's at the last minute and this was one of the only ADR's we could get for dinner, and since we were going to HS for the afternoon, thought it would be a good choice to try again.

We arrived about 10 minutes before our ADR and they took us pretty quick. The restaurant wasnt that crowded considering it was about 8pm.

They seated us at a booth, and I ordered a Frozen Strawberry Daquiri.

Also very good.

My DS had the Chicken, corn, pizza and mac and cheese.

He seemed to enjoy this as well.

DH tried the clam chowder, prime rib,Ceasar salad, ribs, and some salads.

I had some clams, and mussels, along with prime rib.

Tasted very fresh, I live in Florida and for the life of me cant understand why we cant get good shellfish. I used to live on LI in NY and loved all the fresh shellfish, I was very happy

Another Picture of the Prime Rib, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. This macaroni and cheese was to die for.

Peel your own shrimp and mushrooms.

The ever popular Oreo Bon bons, Key lime pie tartlet, chocolate chip cookie and Blondie, and cheesecake.

We were wearing our anniversary pins, so they also brought out this special desert.

It was a chocolate cupcake type with warm fudge inside, DH ate it, I just went for the piece of chocolate on top, yummy

All in all, this was a very good meal, not a favorite ( Le Celier, Coral Reef yummm) but it was good. Fish tasted and looked fresh so we were happy.

Wouldnt hesitate to go again.

Yum ... all looks good.

Did DH like it better this time?

There are so many places to eat. Not sure if I will ever make it here or not! Well, I guess I just have to keep going back until I eat at every restaurant at least once!

Nice review! :thumbsup2

Yes, he actually commented when we left, that he was surprised that he liked it so much, and would go back again. :thumbsup2

Thats too bad, that you will have to just keep going and going until you have tried them all. :lmao:

Awesome pictures and review. We are going to try this place on our next trip. The food looks delicious and the pictures are great too. I heard not to go right at 5 due to the food will be only luke warm. We usually book our ADR's for around 7:30-8:00pm. Your food looks good for being 8pm. Were they still filling the stations up at that time??? Thanks again for the reviews.

Thank you for the review and pictures! We are trying Cape May Cafe for the first time on August 19th. My DH is really looking forward to it. I'm not big on mussels and clams, but the shrimp look tasty! And what exactly is an oreo bon bon???

DH & I have adr's for Cape May in dec.& have been waffleing about keeping it or not . We were dissapointed with the clams last time we were there. They were full of sand & it seemed like they had not been cleaned at all. The clams are the main reason for us going there . Since I saw some on your plate I have to ask how they were on your trip? Every thing looked good that you had. thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great review! We always enjoy the food at Cape May!:thumbsup2

I really enjoyed that seafood salad and I usually don't touch something like that. I really love eating as many clams and mussels as I want. Yumm

Thank you for the review and pictures. :thumbsup2 The food looks good. We are trying it again this trip. I hope we like it as well as we did 2 years ago. I think I will.:thumbsup2

Yes, they were still filling the stations, everything tasted fresh and was hot.

Have a great time.

We'll be there next month.

I whimpered a little when I saw that Oreo bon bon . . . Love 'em!

We ate there for the first time last summer and really enjoyed it :)

The mini corndogs on the kids area were awesome - LOL!

Thank you!! Living in New England, I love seafood and can be pretty picky about it. We were a bit hesitant to try Cape May, so we didn't on our last trip. But hopefully we'll get there next time. I'm seeing many more positive reviews from people, even those from New England.

We're doing the breakfast at Cape May. Anyone know anything about that?

I LOVE CAPE MAY

we always go there for the last night of our trips, the food is great and teh location is good too. we always end a trip by going to cape may then walking around the boardwalk

Are there characters there at dinner? I came to the review board specifically looking for a Cape May dinner review. I was so glad to find this one!:cool1: We are staying at the Swan and wanted an early dinner within walking distance and NOT inside Epcot or MGM. We will have some guests with us with our DD and their 3 kids, so we want it to be fun and casual.

Problem is, the other couple are not big seafood eaters...is there enough on the buffet for non seafood eaters?

No, Im sorry there arent any characters at this meal. I dont know if Cape May has any other meals (lunch maybe ?) that does. MY DH is not a big seafood eater either, and he found plenty he really enjoyed. It is casual, and I think you will enjoy it, not sure about kids though, my DS is 14 and he found plenty he liked to eat :thumbsup2

Hope this helps
