I get to book Fastpasses in just a couple days. I'm trying to figure out logistics. We have 4:40 reservations at 1900 Park Faire and then are dropping my dad and kids off at Pop and my husband and I are heading to Hollywood Studios for the evening. When would you book the first fastpass? Would a 6-7 fastpass just be a waste or should we be able to make it? We have a car so we'll be driving not relying on Disney transportation. How long with 1900 Park Faire take?

Dinner will take about an hour. Driving over to Pop will take about 15 mins. Driving over to HWS and parking and walking into the park will take about 15-25 mins. At the earliest you might be into HWS by 6:30 pm.

Expect a character meal to take up to 90 minutes if you want to see all the characters. It might be only an hour, but I have had it take longer. If your reservation is at 4:40, you may not be seated immediately. So, it is entirely possible you are seated at 5:00 and finish at 6:30 pm. I think making a 6-7 fp is ambitious and not entirely likely, especially if you have to drop others off at Pop before heading to HS.

So schedule a if we ride it great but not expecting it from 6-7? Thanks! I was feeling like it might be too tight but was wanted experienced answers. My husband thinks we'll have plenty of time but he's usually overly optimistic.

Maybe try to convince him on a 7-8 FP instead? It's still la bit optimistic but not nearly as much as a 6-7 FP. And if you arrive earlier than expected you can always try modifying the FP.

Or if you're the one making the FP, just schedule it for 7 (or 7:30) and tell him it was the earliest you could get. 🤣

And I just re-read the post. Are you booking 60 days out or 30 days out?

We're booking at 60 days and that's the only time we're in the park so we get 3 Fastpasses before our 8:30 Oga's reservation.

I'm thinking
6-7 Star Tours
7-8 Smugglers Run
8-8:30 Rockin Rollercoaster

We've never ridden Smugglers Run or RnRC so those are rides we really want to do. Star Tours would be nice but I won't be upset if we miss it to take our time at 1900. We will be at Hollywood Studios other days but not with those as Fastpasses.

I see. And i'm guessing you have other FP's in mind for Hollywood studios those other days. In which case, sure go for it.

Would trying to change your reservation to an earlier time (say 4, when the restaurant opens for dinner) work or would there be a conflict there as well? Asking since that would at least increase your odds a little bit of making the FP.

RnRC is at the opposite end of the park than Oga’s. I’d switch that with Smugglers.

In our experience, 1900 Park Fare can be notoriously slow. We have eaten there many times over the years because my DD has always been a big fan of Cinderella and the stepsisters. I think the shortest time it has ever taken us to have a meal there was about an hour and 20 minutes. We think it is a good day at Park Fare if we are seated within 10 or 15 minutes after the ADR time. It is not unusual to get seated quite a bit after your ADR time there. Hopefully, you will get seated around your ADR time. (I remember one time we had a 6:00 p.m. ADR, did not get seated until over an hour after that, and by the time we saw all the characters, left the restaurant at 9:00 p.m.- which blew my MK fireworks plan). Also, once you are seated, a lot depends on where the characters are as to how long it takes you to get out. The restaurant is big and the characters sometimes get really spread out. One time we had an ADR at 6:40. I can't remember when we were seated, but the last character in the rotation had just left our area when they seated us- by the time they all got around to us again (which was a must with DD), we left the restaurant at 9:20. That time I had planned for us to watch the MK fireworks from the GF boat dock, and we left the restaurant at 9:20 as the fireworks were ending.

I would be shocked if you could make a 6-7 FP with a 4:40 ADR at 1900 Park Fare, I think best case scenario, you are walking out of the restaurant around 6:00. I would book a throw away if you want to start one at 6:00- if you get really lucky and make it great, and if not no big deal.

Also, I think it is about a 15 or 20 minute drive from GF to Pop. I don't think Pop is that far from DHS- probably less than 10 minutes, but you still have to factor in probably at least a half hour to drive, unload the kids at POP, get to DHS and get parked and to the gate.

Would it be an option to put your Dad and Kids on the Monorail to MK to grab a bus to Pop on their own, or would that be too much for your Dad to handle? That might shave off a little time, and if you wanted to leave 1900 Park Fare while they were still waiting for the characters to finish their rotation you could do that. Of course, that might not be the best idea, because then the kids would probably be begging to go to MK. :)

I'm thinking if it really went over we could maybe all go to HS and they could take a bus back to Pop.

I could move our reservation up to 4 but I'm worried we won't be hungry yet. Or do you think we can count on not being seated right away?

In order to make sure you're hungry, eat a late breakfast/early lunch - maybe around 10/10:30?

Would arriving a bit early help with being seated on time?
As PP mentioned no guarantee, but I would definitely do that. Since dinner only starts at 4, it should not be backed up yet, so checking in at 4:20 could get you seated by 4:40(or sooner) rather than checking in at 4:40 and getting seated at 5 - can't hurt!

If you have 4:40 reservations, you will be seated immediately. You will be the first table. They stagger reservations in sections, they don't fill the entire restaraunt with 4pm reservations. If you arrive early, they might seat you when you arrive.
