Where are the best places to eat at the parks or resorts, to get some decent meals, but save a few dollars? There are 3 of us, myself and DD12, DS 6 going. We can share too, at least the kids, they are pickey where I am not and like to try new things, so I know they won't eat what I want. Anyways I want to try to save some money, because we just booked out free dining WDW trip so I need to save. We have never been to DL, so I want to enjoy what there is there, but want to save. I should mention though that I did go all out for this trip and we are staying conceirge at PP and I paid for the dining plan which I have heard is not worth it, but atleast most of our meals are already paid for so I am trying to limit out of pocket. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Our favorites have been: Character Dining - Goofy's Kitchen (DLH) and Plaza Inn (DL)...though have heard that the Lilo and Stitch character meal at PP is fantastic. (We haven't tried that one yet). The Storyteller Cafe at GCH was okay, not much character interaction. Ariel's Grotto (DCA) if you want to see the princesses..food okay.
Favorite Snacks (light meals): White Water Snacks (GCH) good food, good prices! Bengal Bar-B-Que (great meat/veg skewers), Dole Whip at Tiki Bar(both BBB and TB are in Adventureland); churros from snack wagons, corn dogs at DL and DCA
Meal Favorites: Carnation Cafe (Main Street DL), Pilot Taster's Grill (DCA)(great salads and hamburgers - all the fixings!,
Rancho Del Zorc?? (Mexican) (Frontierland)...big portions here, definately want to share! Blue Bayou (expensive but good food and atmosphere), Tomorrowland Terrace (pizza/salad); Boudini's (DCA) get bread! and sandwiches; Rainforest Cafe (DTD) good fun, fun atmosphere, good pricing. I know there are others...just can't think of them right now...but have a great time!!

Here's a couple things I always get when I visit the park (which is about every other month):

1. Grab a vegetarian (all black bean or black bean/rice) mexicone at the walk-up window at Tortilla Joe's in Downtown Disney. They are a good size and only $3.50 (meat bumps up the price by $3.50, but I say save the cost!). Don't forget to ask for both salsas (red and green).

2. Get your coffee at Main Street Market House (about mid-way up on the right side of Main Street as you enter DL). You only have to keep your receipt -- not the cup! You can show it to them all day and get free refills (but just at that locale).

3. The Market House also serves a cinnamon tea latte for only $2.50. It's very large and definitely enjoyable for the latte/"something-other-than-black-coffee" crowd.

It's always great to save a little money here and there.

Have a great time

Great tip!!! I never knew about the free refills all day, now I know where I will be getting my coffee from!

Our family likes Red Rockets in tomorrow land. I typically get a kids meal. I find its enough and doesnt stuff me. I usually sneak a few bites of dh's salad from there as well. The salads are very good!

Riverbell Terrace has decent bbq. The meals are large enough to share. They serve breakfast there until 11 or 11:30. Its a great place to get Mickey pancakes and watch the boats go past. With conc. at PP you wont need breakfast, but if you eat late there it could be "brunch". Again, the meals are large- 3 plates for our family of 4 is plenty- and we are big eaters!

The corndogs from the little red wagon on main street are very good- and HUGE. Ask for no chips and save a $1. My kids usually share one corndog.

If your kids are picky you might take a look at www.dlresortinfo.com to get an idea of what is served at various places.

We love Whitewater Snacks, (enter via GCH) and I think that the chicken or beef nachos can feed 2 adults, definitely 2 children. Also, the corndog cart (Main Street) has a corndog and chips for about $5.80. Drinks are separate, but, they will give you a cup for water, if you don't want to spend money on drinks.

We really like Bengal BBQ too. The skewers are about $3.00 each. One might feed a child.
