Dining with large group of 22 people

We are planning a trip to Disney Wrold next September for 22 people (12 adults 10 kids). We are going to be eating several sit down meals together. Are there any restaurants that will seat us all togehter, and or any restaurants that you would recommend for a large group, or are there any restaurants that will not seat us all together.

I am not sure any restaurant there can seat that many together at one table, but I could be mistaken. When I go with a big group, they usually give us a couple tables next to one another.

some of the restaurants are small enough that # would be half of the customers (maybe not half but you know what i mean ) some floor plans would have areally hard time fitting a group like that at 1 large table, but instead so many tables in the same area.

You will need to book on the phone and possibly through group dining. I would plan on being given the options of the first or last seatings. I would also plan on being at multiple tables near each other. 'Ohana does have a set of tables that can be pushed together in the middle of the main dining room. However, layouts such as that seemed to be few and far between.

We had a rehearsal dinner at Ohanas with 24 people at one table. I think Boma also has large (20 plus?) tables. If you get the right person on the phone to help with your reservations it should be easy. Some reps are less helpful with suggestions though.

Group dining is your best bet, but your times will be limited as they mysteriously make a limited number of tables available. So, you'll want to jump at your first chance to make the ADR.

I've seen a table of 16 or so set at Narcoossee's, so you might have some luck at the small-ish restaurants. I think even with Group Dining they give you the disclaimer that you might not all sit together. With our group of 9, they always said that, but we were seated together each time.

Especially if you are celebrating something, I think the restaurants work hard to make it work out for you.

As mentioned above, Boma is a very easy choice for a large group. I'm sure Whispering Canyon could push together enough tables, and if everyone wanted to order the family-style skillets, they could probably get you served relatively quickly.

If you are going as a "Grand Gathering," there are a few options there for sit-down meals with entertainment. Spirit of Aloha and Hoop-Dee-Doo are other (pricey) dinner entertainment options.

I agree with the PP that suggested you need to call group dining.

I have been part of groups of 20 and more at Chef Mickey's, Cape May, and Crystal Palace, but I was not the one who made the ADR.

I've had lunch at 50's PTC & breakfast at Tusker House with over 20 people. 50's split us into 2 groups, but Tusker House was able to put us all together. We had great experiences at both places. As others have stated, I did have to call Disney's group dining phone number for both reservations.

We regularly do large groups for dining (anywhere from 12 to 40). When you reserve they will tell you that you may be at separate tables and in some places you want to be at separate tables. Crystal Palace is one. They always seem to put us at two or three tables by the windows. Since it's a buffet, people are constantly getting up and down. The people who sat window side had a difficult time as they were constantly crawling over someone plus the person at the end had to get up and down. I can't imagine what it would be like if they put all three tables together.

Early is good, too. We tend to do early breakfasts or early dinners when we have large groups.

Kona Cafe is very good. They have gotten 18 of us together. When we were 28, we had quite a few tables (all right by each other).

We have had large groups at Kona, Boma, Crystal Palace, Sanaa, Biergarten and Le Cellier. Not always at the same table but we have found that is most times a good thing. We find it's difficult to have a conversation with everyone even at a table of 8.

If you are a Grand Gathering, you should do the Good Morning Breakfast at Tony's with Mickey and the gang. I did it 2 years ago, and it was the BEST character meal I ever went to! Good food and unbelievable character interaction.

I've gone with a group of 16, and I arranged all of the dining myself. Some of the places will push tables together (Boatwrights, Rainforest Cafe), while others will seat you next to each other (Liberty Tree Tavern) - we found the restaurants more than accomodating. In several cases, I found it easier to break up the group and make 2 reservations at very near times (4:30, 4:40), and they were ALWAYS able to accomodate us at the same time - even Le Cellier!
