Hello All.....

We will be heading to Disney in Sept. My sis in law and her family as well as my sis in law sis and her family will also be meeting us there. For a total of 14. woo hoo!!

My husband and I and the kids ususlly go in March/April. This will be the first time in Sept. I am a little nervous of the weather. I hear that Sept is usually alot of rain. Has anyone ever vacationed in Sept?? If so, how's the weather????

Second Ques...

The last time my sis in law visited disney was about 10 yrs ago.... Every year that we go we usually go the same usual character dinners. My daughter loves the crystal palace. Me and my husband are not too crazy with it. But hey she simply loves the Pooh Parade around the restaurant. We also always go the breakfast at Cinderella's castle. Somewhat pricey, so we try and do it every other year. Does anyone have any don't miss places or some places to just simply avoid. All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Not bad - mid 90's temps, mid 90's humidity, bone-jarring thunderstorms every afternoon. We waded into Le Cellier in knee-deep water one evening.

Typical central Florida summer weather - "The weather is here...wish you were beautiful!" You just have to get over Orlando summer weather; there is nothing you can do to change it.

You can, however, make adjustments for the weather. Start early in the day, park for a while and then return to your resort for pooling/napping. Go back to the parks in the evening.

Wear plenty of sunblock (the sun is MUCH hotter here than wherever you live), drink water early and constantly (don't wait until you get thirsty), wear sun protection on your head. Walk slow and rest often. Buy one of those little battery operated fans or misters. Don't play with the heat; it can be dangerous.

If you hear thunder, get indoors and stay there - lightning often strikes several miles away from where the storm appears to be and having the coins melted together in your pocket is likely to ruin your day.

You are going to be hot. You are going to get wet. You are going to have a wonderful time! Whatever it's like in Disney, it will be better than where you came from.

My 3 year old is a character-breakfast commando. We did Chef Mickey's, the Princess breakfast at Norway, and Crystal Palace in four days. She loved them all, and I don't think I could single one out. If I HAD to choose, I would choose the Princess breakfast, but that's because - at 3 - she is more comfortable with real people than characters. She did fine with the characters, but it took a few minutes of adjustment at each breakfast.

She also enjoyed Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba, but I think she enjoyed that a lot more because she had seen the DVD many times and knew what to expect. That's a great show. We will not go to it every trip because of the expense, but we'll go back often.

She also loved Belle reading the Beauty and the Beast story just off the front of the Castle - that was very intimate and really one of the highlights of the trip. She had always been a Belle fan (Disney on Ice, the movie, the Princess Breakfast, etc.), but the storytelling really sealed it for our girlie! She loves all of the princesses, but Belle is her all-time fave.

Also, to my surprise, she really enjoyed Epcot. She really got into the Kidcot stations at each showcase, and would have spent all day going to the China, France, and Canada movies over and over. That surprised me.

We were there in Sept last year and it was hot! It rained every day for about 1/2 hour at 3:30pm and then cleared up. We just started early in the morning and because of the total lack of crowds, we finished most parks by about 2:00pm and went back to the hotel to lounge by the pool. Just remember that it does not really cool down that much at night and the humidity stays the same if not gets worse, so wear cool clothing if you are going to Fantasmic or PI at night.

Thank you..... I will hope for the best and try and keep cool. After all your in Disney

I concur with everything said about the heat. Early September is just an extension of August. Very hot and humid, with storms in the afternoon. But they pass, so just plan on a break around 3pm. It will be humid and warm at night as well, so you are likely to be in shorts at all times. Bring bug spray too, it can get a little buggy at night with all the standing water the storms can bring.

Have poncho in hand and have a great time!
