Hello. I've dined solo many times at WDW, including Sci-Fi Drive In, but what is it really like to be solo at Prime Time Cafe. So much attention is drawn to the diners, and I think it might be ackward for those dining single. Thoughts?

Just did this in Dec. At no point was I made the center of attention. My server cut way down on the acting stuff from what I could see of other tables, she was conscious to my solo vibe and honestly I didn’t give her much to play off of. She did sit across from me to take my order, explained I set the table, no elbows on the table and no “radios”. At that point I interjected nicely “I’m dining solo, I will be on my phone.” We chuckled and that was that. (I don’t put my elbows on the table anyway lol.) I quite enjoyed my experience and the fried chicken was Amazing. I plan to return.

I'd feel much more comfortable at 50's where I'd at least be at my own table and not stuck in the back of a car others are in.

I've dined solo at Prime and had a blast, but I can understand that some people may not like all the banter and such. Why not eat at the Lounge area, if you feel more comfortable? It's like a lunch counter of the 50's, so not like a sit-down at a table at all.

Do they serve food there?

Me, too! I’ve had such lovely, attentive wait staff to joke with and really enjoy watching all the action at other tables.

Go with an open mind… and have fun!

Apparently because you can’t anymore (see above). I didn’t see anyone eating there in Dec while I waited for my table and the vibe was just a bar vibe.

The servers at Prime Time will "play" with you if you want them to, but if you don't it won't be a problem. As others have said, tehy should pick up on the vibe, or you can just tell them. If you are playful back, they will do more, at least in my experience. I wouldn't worry about going solo though - they'll back off if you want them to.

They no longer serve food in the lounge. You can’t even get the peanut butter jelly shake. You can only order the drinks prepared at the bar
Oh, wow! I did not know they stopped serving food. Gosh, that was such a nice alternative area . So sorry for the incorrect advice. I hope they bring that back someday.

I've eaten solo at Prime Time a couple of times, and really enjoyed it. I'm pretty introverted, and my server was very polite, no "shtick" until, since I found myself wanting a little, I ordered something of "Grandma's" and asked if she'd been working hard making it. "Oh yes, she got up early and has been in the kitchen working all morning." He relaxed a little then, and so did I.

Every time I go to The World solo I eat at Prime Time. I never felt awkward.

For me the food is marginal so it's the atmosphere and the servers that make it a must do place for me.
If you feel awkward then don't go - the food isn't that good.
