I just got back this morning and thought I'd share some reviews of our table service restaurants. We were on the dinng plan and both me and my DH thought it was great.

Les Chefs de France - Nice atmosphere, good service and nice food. It was my first day so I was still getting used to the portion sizes so couldn't eat much, but what I did eat was nice. I had the French onion soup which was good but a huge bowl of it. my DH had the tomato anf goats cheese tart which was the size of a pizza!!! but really good, he managed to finish it which I was surprised about. For my entree I had the sole fillet which was breaded, served with rice and lemon butter sauce, the fish and sauce were nice but the rice was overcooked. For dessert we shared the sampler which had a nice selection of deserts on.

Liberty Tree tavern - Really liked this one but again huge portions. I had crab cakes which were good, my DH had the fried cheese which was excellent to start. Then I had the peasants feast which was good but there was no way I could finish it, i think there was about half a turkey on the plate. DH had Amber waves of grain which he described as a weird combination of flavours. I really can't remember what we had for desert but I think it was nice.

Sci-fi -One of the best for atmosphere but worst for food. It started well with good onion rings and a spinach dip for appetisers. Both of those were really tasty and I paid out of pocket for a Marshas Martian cocktail which was my favourite cocktail of the trip. For entrees they made my DH a veggie burger as there was no veggie entree on the menu, he said it was alright. I had the barbeque chicken sandwich which I didn't enjoy. The chicken had a funny texture but I was aready full from the appetiser so just ate the fries. We split a strawberry milkshake and chocolate moon pie for dessert, the moon pie looked great but was too sickly and we didn't finish it.

California Grill - Really loved the food here, one of my highlights of the trip. I had the Big Bang roll to start which was amazing, I'm still dreaming of that sushi. DH has the goats cheese ravioli which he said was good. I had the salmon for my main and again it was great, cooked to perfection and the sauce complemented it beautifully. DH had some mushroom risotto thing which he said was good but not great. For dessert I had the chocolate pudding with berries which was lovely bu quite filling and my husband had a banoffie type thing which I can't remember the name of but it was really good.

Boma- Really enjoyed this buffet. It was great for my DH as there was lots of vegetarian food on offer. We had to wait about 10 mins for a table and it was actually the first place we had to wait any time at all. The desserts were great, the bread pudding with chocolate sauce was to die for and the zebra domes were great as well.

Yachtsman- Again I really liked this place. My one criticism would be that a big party came in as we were finishing our entrees and the service became non-existant for a while. I had the farmers salad to start, and the land and sea for my entree. The salad was nice and the land and sea was excellent. The steak was really good and the mashed potatoes were devine. My DH had ravioli for his entree which again he thought was nice but not spectacular. We had the dessert sampler to share and I thought it was excellent, nicely presented and all the desserts were great. I especcially liked the sorbet presented in a chocolate cup. Overall it pretty much tied with the Cali Grill for best signature meal.

Rose and Crown - Not one of my favourites either for service or food. We were seated almost immediatley and our server came out and took our drink and food orders. My DH enjoyed being able to order boddingtons! I had the lamb and barley soup which was actually really nice but was barely warm, I would have sent it back but I couldn't see my server anywhere. DH had stewed mushrooms which he said were good. Literally 5 minutes after the appetisers arrived, the entrees were delivered. Even our server came up to mention that it was a bit quick! I had fish and chips which were ok but the batter was a bit soggy. My husband had the curried vegetables which were a bit too spicy for him. For dessert I had the chocolate guiness cake which was nice and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding which he thought was just alright.

Alfredos - I liked this one. The tables were very close together but the service was good and food nice. We got seated almost immediately and ordered a bottle of wine to go with the meal. I ordered calamari to start and wasn't too impressed, there was alot of it and some was good but some was a bit rubbery. DH had the tuscan bean soup which was really tasty. I had the trio of pasta for my entree which I really enjoyed, all three were excellent but the lasagne was especially good. DH had the fettuccine Alfredo which was one of his best meals of the trip, being vegetarian meant a lot of his menu choices were pasta and this was his favourite of all of them. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse and DH had the tiramisu, both were really good.

I'll continue these later after I get some sleep

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Thank you for the reviews. We are going to the CG and I always enjoy reading about it.

taylorl25,

Thanks for posting for reviews! Get some sleep. WDW can be exhausting! I am happy you enjoyed Cali Grill. I am trying to choose courses judiciously so I will have room for dessert without feeling like I need to be rolled out of the dining room!

Looking forward to your next reviews,
penny

Ok, now my jet lag has disappeared and have spent half a day at work I thought I post the rest of my reviews:

Victoria and Alberts - Obviously not on the dining plan but we thought we'd pay out of pocket for a special meal, and it was worth every penny! My husband had a set menu prepared by the chef as he is vegetarian but I had a couple of choices for most courses. Everything was superb, both in terms of presentation and taste and if anyone is going there soon, I had the smoked duck and crab cakes as my first two courses and they were absolutely out of this world. The dessert was also fabulous, I had Hawaian Chocolate souffle and my husband had a Grand Marnier Souffle. Both were cooked perfectly with extra sauce to pour on if we wanted it.

The wine pairing was also well worth the $50 and overall we had an experience we will never forget.

Narcoossees- I may not have liked this as much as subconciously I was comparing it to V&As meal the night before, it wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either. I had the crab cake to start which I really enjoyed, and my husband ordered the squash soup. Unfortunately he was about to eat it when he realised there was crab in it, something which wasn't mentioned on the menu. By the time I eventually caught sight of our waitress I had nearly finished my appetiser, but she replaced it for him without issue.

I had the Wahoo for my entree which was a nice piece of fish but nothing special, DH had the veggie sampler which he said was good. For dessert I had the key lime creme brulee which I really enjoyed and my DH the fruit cobbler which was also very nice. This was the only place we had to wait around 30 minutes for a table as it was incredibly busy. Overall it was an ok experience but my least favourite of the signature restaurants.

Planet Hollywood-Overall I enjoyed this place but the portion sizes were absolutely crazy! When we told our waitress we were on the dining plan she warned us the portions were big and advised us to share an appetiser. We took her advice and share the spinach and mushroom dip, I'm so glad we did! It was actually really nice but it was big with a riduculous amount of chips to dip in it.

For my entree I had the mahi mahi as it's my favourite fish but hard to get in the UK. It was nice but the cajun spices it was seasoned with were too spicy for me and I had to avoid eating the skin. My DH had the pasta with tomato sauce, he rated this as just ok and not nearly as nice as Alfredos. For dessert I had the creme brulee which was nice but not as good as narcoossees and DH had the white chocolate bread pudding with Jack daniels sauce.

This was the biggest pudding i've ever seen in my life! I couldn't stop laughing when I seen it, DH kept saying 'but it's the size of an entree'. It was nice but the Jack Daniels sauce was incredibly strong and he barely managed to eat half of it. Overall we had good service and nice food and I would probably eat there again.

Donalds breakfastsauros- we used our last table service credits for this and I quite enjoyed it. Service was good and there was plenty of choice on the buffet. I had a Krispy Kreme donut, some apple pie type thing, half a danish and a few other bits and pieces. All the food was nice and hot. It was quite busy and we didn't get a lot of character interaction but that may have been because we had no children with us. At first the CM who was telling the characters which tables to go to just completely ignored us and Goofy left the room without even visiting our table. I asked pluto if I could have a photo and he obliged, then donald came over and Mickey give me a kiss. It was my first character meal and I would do another in the future.

Overall I really enjoyed using the dinng plan and would definetly use it again. I got to eat in a wide variety of places and although it was way to much food I just didn't finish meals if it was too much for me.
