Two adults for an anniversary trip, 9 days of spectacular eating around the world. We only ate and drank what’s listed in the review. There will be 4 total reviews.

Day 6: Dinner at Victoria and Albert’s – This was our very special anniversary meal. So we got completely decked out and headed over to the Grand Floridian. Our reservation was for 6:00 PM and we were the first table sat that night. When we walked in we checked in at the Host station, they confirmed our names and wished us a Happy Anniversary. We were sat towards the back of the main room. It was very nice and cozy, the lighting was dim and beautiful, very romantic. Our Victoria and Albert introduced themselves and got us started with bread and water. Art and I had opted to stick with water tonight, we will do the wine pairings on our next trip. Our menus were presented to us with our names on them, on the inside were both of our names and the fact that it was our 4th anniversary, a wonderful souvenir. We ordered all of our courses at once and just sat back and relaxed.

An Amuse Bouche of seared Ahi Tuna was brought first. Very small, only about two bites, but absolutely delicious. Next came the cold appetizer, both Art and I had chosen the chicken with a citrus glace. A wonderfully refreshing and deliciously light treat. This was followed by our warm appetizer of a mushroom ravioli with veal sweetbread. So incredible, full of flavor and magnificently presented, if all I had was a bowl of these ravioli I would have been happy. Art and I finally chose different dishes for our soup course. He had the Duck Consommé and I had the Yukon Gold Leek Cream Soup. We each tried a small taste of each other’s and agreed we like our own best. I found my soup to be superb, so rich and creamy thoughts of coronary blockage popped into my head, but I didn’t care. If it had been any other restaurant I would have picked up my bowl and licked it. Art by this point was passing into food nirvana and we still had three courses to go.

Our entrees followed the soup. Art had chosen the Filet, which was excellent and very tender, a bit more rare than medium rare though. I had the breast of pheasant stuffed with lump crabmeat (the crab was from the Philippines and not Maryland much to my dismay). This dish was truly excellent, though as a hater of skin on fowl I was forced to peel each perfect slice before consuming it. The crab was delicious though not quite Maryland quality. After we completed our entrees a plate we each were brought the fruit and cheese plates to cleanse our palate. The fig, burgundy soaked pears, stilton and everything else was wonderful. Each was just a little taste, but by this point I was getting a wee bit full.

Finally we had our plates cleared away and the coffee pot was brought forth. The Cona coffee maker is a show unto itself and we truly enjoyed watching it. The coffee when it came forth was wonderfully aromatic and a delight to the taste buds. It was also the perfect compliment to our desserts. Mine was the Kona Chocolate Soufflé; Art had the Grand Marnier Soufflé. Once again we each tried a bite of each others and agreed we liked our own best. The Godiva chocolate sauce with my Souffle was out of this world, and the entire experience was a chocolate lovers dream come true. For Art, the resident lover of fine liqueurs his Souffle’s Grand Marnier Sauce was everything he could have wished for.
Last but certainly not least, our desserts were cleared away and small truffles were placed on the table. We ate those and admitted ourselves stuffed. So Victoria brought back our menus, gave me a beautiful long stem red rose, gave us a chocolate anniversary card, and handed Art the check. This experience was wonderful. I know we will do this again at some point. Probably not every trip because of the prohibitive cost. 10 out of 10. Price with tax: $181.90

What a fantastic review! We are dining at V & A's for the first time in December, in celebration of my 30th birthday! I am really looking forward to it.

Happy Anniversary!
