Arrived Thursday Dec 13. In the party are myself, DH and DD20. We have lost count of how many trips we have been. We come at least twice per year and almost always stay in FW Cabins. We usually eat one meal per day out and the rest at the cabin. We have the DDE card. We are not too picky and are usually content with our eating experiences. We didn’t take any pictures except for Yak & Yeti since it is new.

Thurs 12/13--Hoop De Doo. Signed up for Tier 3 but the show wasn’t sold out so we were seated in category 2. We haven’t been to HDD for several years and it was a very good time. The food was good. I was mostly interested in the ribs but was worried after some bad reviews. But they were great! We got a refill bucket of those. Not fatty; the sauce was great! The chicken was also good. Moist and tasty. Loved the salad, potatoes were fine, beans were good. Short cake was not so good.

Friday 12/14—Yak & Yeti. We like to try at least 1 new restaurant per trip. This trip I have not been on top of planning so I made only a couple of ADRs. When I went to pick up our HDD tickets I made last minute ADRs for Y&Y for lunch today and managed to pick up Rose & Crown for a CP package next week. That surprised me! Anyway back to Y & Y. We were really pleased with our meal. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our 1:30 ressie and were seated in about 10 minutes. Our server was Stuart and he was very nice and efficient. We ordered pork egg rolls as an appetizer. They were a little greasy but very tasty. The sauce served with them was great; sweet but also a little spicy. I ordered the tempura shrimp. The shrimp were batter fried and served with the same sauce as the egg rolls. I liked them. They were a little greasy but the batter was crunchy and the shrimp were tender and cooked just right. It was served with coconut ginger rice and stir fried veggies. (carrot, onion, green and red peppers, snow peas) Both the rice and veggies were good. DH ordered the shrimp lo mein. He was very pleased with the dish. There were plenty of shrimp and they were cooked just right. The lo mein was well seasoned. DD got the beef and broccoli which came with Jasmine rice. She enjoyed her meal as well. The flank steak was very tender and the veggies were cooked well. Y&Y does not take the DDE card but they did take the annual pass for a 10% discount.

Saturday 12/15—We decide to try to do the Ultimate MK tour where you try to do every attraction that is available all in one day. WOW! We did accomplish almost all of it. All the rides except Tea Cups (closed) and missed Swiss Family Robinson and a couple of arcade games but saw all the shows, parades, etc. Since we were eating “on the run” we did lunch at Cosmic Ray’s. I had the burger….not good at all…just sort of a blah favor. DD got the grilled chicken sandwich. She said it was just ok. The fries were good almost every where we went this time including this meal. Hot & crispy. Later we hit Aloha Aisle for a dole whip float and a root beer float. Later while waiting for the lighting of the castle we grabbed corn nuggets at Casey’s….we liked those!

Sunday 12/16—We were exhausted from yesterday so slept in and went over to Epcot for a walk up at Biergarten. We were seated right away and the buffet was good as usual. They had some different items on the dessert bar. I had a little bit of everything with my favorites being the tomato salad, pork schnitzel and red cabbage. YUM

Monday 12/17—Stopped at Pecos Bills since we were on that side of the park for EMH. I had the cheeseburger. It was edible but barely. DD got the double cheeseburger. DH had the taco salad which he liked.

Tues 12/18—We got a last minute ADR for Rose & Crown for the Candlelight Processional. We got there about 10 minutes before our time, picked up our buzzer and it went off before I got 3 steps away from the podium. We were seated outside in a perfect spot for Illuminations…too bad we weren’t going to be able to take advantage of that. We all got the potato leek soup for our appetizer. I have been fighting a cold and sore throat and the soup felt and tasted so good! DD had the potato leek soup at Biergarten and said this was better. For our entrees I had the steak and fish. It was awesome! The steak was huge and tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. The fish was good too. A little greasy but tasty and the fish was flaky. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans which were fine. DD and DH both had the pot roast. They both thought the meat was flavorful but the potatoes and roasted vegetables were just ok. We all got different desserts so we could share….Baileys Irish Coffee Trifle, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate guinness torte. All were good. We all liked the sticky toffee pudding best.

Wed 12/19—Tonight was our Boma night. This was our third time here and I have tried a different rotation each time. They didn’t have the butternut squash soup which I love but I tried the Moroccan seafood stew which was nice; light and flavorful with shrimp, scallops and mussels. I tried a little of most things. The feature was ribs which I loved. They were spicy and a little hot but very good and sticky. I could have eaten a lot more but they were just too messy. My prime rib was wonderful! I tried a little of most of the desserts but the zebra domes were definitely my fave. DH is not a fan of “different” food but he managed a couple of plates.

Thurs 12/19—We went to Ohana which is a perennial favorite of ours. We waited about 10 minutes for our 9:00 ressie. The hostess walked us all around the restaurant before placing us at a table right next to the window. I did not check about fireworks when making the ADR but they had them that night and we had a perfect view! What a bonus! As usual for Ohana the food started to flow quickly and we had a great time. Our server was great and all the food was good. The steak is my favorite and it was cooked perfectly. I also love the wings but we didn’t ask for seconds tonight and I could have eaten a few more of those. I hardly ever eat the shrimp though and tonight it was really good! The pork and turkey were both tender and juicy but the sausage was …bleh. They should get rid of that. We left room for the bread pudding and had two of those! I keep expecting to have a bad experience with all the negative comments Ohana has been getting recently but we all agreed that this was the best Ohana experience we have had.

Fri 12/20—We went to Downtown Disney planning some shopping and our usual stop at Earl of Sandwich. The line was so long though we decided to try Wolfgang Puck Express. I’m glad we did! I had the roast beef and cheddar on ciabatta; lots of good roast beef served warm. The bread was great. DD had the roast beef and gorgonzola pocket which she enjoyed. DH had the 4 cheese pizza which he really liked too. Plus they took my DDE card for a 10% discount! We will definitely be back there!

Sat 12/22—Our last day. We went over to the Magic Kingdom to finish the trip. Pretty crowded tonght. I was still stopped up and congested from my cold so we went over to Columbia Harbour House for soup. I had the chowder and half tuna sandwich, DH had the chowder and half ham sandwich and DD had the chicken fingers. The chowder was surprisingly good with lots of clams. The sandwiches were good also. DD enjoyed her chicken fingers and fries. Even though it took awhile to get the food there was plenty of seating. Upstairs was mostly empty.

Final thoughts. We were pleased with all our dining experiences except the hamburgers. For being a pretty crowded time of year the service and wait times were great. We would dine at any of these restaurants again. We go back in May so I will start reading everyone’s reviews again to prepare for that trip. It will be DD’s 21st birthday trip!

Thanks for the reviews. We also ate at Rose & Crown for the Candlelight Processional. I also had the steak & chips which was very good.
