Dining reviews 11/25-12/6-Lots of pics, a little talk - Counter Service - The End!

Hi Kat, I guess we won't being to Wolfgang's after La Nouba in June! What no drinks this time??? ;)

Do you remember what time you had dinner after the show? We are going to the 6pm show and I think they told me it was an hour and a half long...is a 8pm ressie too early in DTD PI?

You really need to try Raglan! The only places that I have booked so far for the next trip are Raglan and Blue Zoo (thanks to you!).

For some reason for the rest of the trip I forgot to take pics of the drinks.:confused3 Believe me we had them, I pretty much stuck to the dirty gin martinis.:goodvibes

We had ressies for 8:00 and it was perfect timing. You are going to enjoy La Nouba so much.:thumbsup2

Looking forward to your Flying Fish review - I hope you had a good experience there. :goodvibes

Have you tried House of Blues at DTD? We had a great dinner there a year or so ago - I'd suggest giving them a try, too, if you don't make it to Raglan Road. :thumbsup2

TigerKat your reviews and pics are always so wonderful!! :thumbsup2 I'm really enjoying this set!

So GF really enjoys tuna tartare?? The teens have some pretty sophisticated choices in there, refreshing! :)

I can't wait for your review of Flying Fish!! :goodvibes

FF is one of our favorite places. We went twice this time.:thumbsup2 We have a HOB here at home and and we love it!

Thank you so much, glad you're enjoying it! DS has a pretty mature palate as I love to cook and he's grown up eating what he calls "Mom's gourmet meals". Now his GF loves her sushi, she would eat it for every meal if she could.

I had already decided to do Raglan Road instead of Puck's for our Daytona trip. Sounds like I made the right decision!

I was surprised with all the tartare GF was ordering too! Then it hit me, hey sushi is raw fish, right? I thought I was the only person who'd order tuna tartare at everyplace that offered it! The best I've had at Disney were FF & Jiko!

TigerKat, more great pics as usual. I'm really enjoying your report! :woohoo:

I think you made a wise choice. Abi loves her some raw fish!!:rotfl:

Thanks! Unfortunately I'm looking at the remaining pics and it looks like after the kids left and came home I slacked up on my picture taking. No drink pics, no dessert pics! WTH was I thinking???????

Sorry you weren't WOWed by WPC. I've been twice. The first was really good. The second, not so much. We tried Raglan this trip and really liked it. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. The band was amazing even though my Mom said she couldn't understand a word they said. Dad and I didn't seem to have that problem, although his scotch flight and my beer flight might have helped us some with the translation. ;)

I can't wait to see your FF review. We didn't make it there this year and I'm sorry now we didn't work it in.

Sounds like WPC was a tad disappointing for you then. We enjoyed it last year but, I have to say, I was so full I couldn't appreciate it properly. We have an ADR for April but I am seriously tempted to switch it to Raglan road as I think the in-laws would prefer it there.

Can't believe you slacked off on dessert and alcohol pictures - the two most important parts of dinner!!! ;)

I'm really enjoying your review! I wanted to do one of these lovely picture filled dining reviews too, but the rest of my party did not see eye-to-eye with me on the subject of taking pics of food!

I look forward to reading more!:goodvibes

DS and I wanted to try Wolfgang Pucks this year because he really wanted the ribs. Not so sure we should after your review (and others) ... :confused3

Can't wait to read more ... :cool1:

Kat, Believe it or not, I just realized that the date we are going to La Nouba is my 1 year anniversary!!!

Have you ever been to Bongos? I am trying to figure outr where to go after the show...maybe HOBs? Any other suggestions? Maybe get a few bottles of Rosa, put A to bed and call it a night?!!! ;)

I would have done Raglan but that is going to be our first night's dinner since we loved it so much.

I know, I'm so disappointed too. I'll know better next time. I've still got some really good pics left, you're going to stick around aren't you?:guilty:

Keep working on them.;) My family thought it was insane at first, now they position their plates and we pass the camera around the table.:rotfl:

Wow the portions at Pucks are enormous, pity it wasn't great!

It really was a lot of food and we took doggie bags back to the room!:goodvibes

Please don't change your mind based on what you read here. WPC is a great restaurant and their sushi and pizzas are excellent as are many of their other offerings. If the menu appeals to you, by all means stick with it!!:thumbsup2

LaNouba for your anniversary, how awesome!! I've never been to Bongos but I have been to the HOBs here in New Orleans and it's great!!! Option # 3, however, Rosa, gets my vote!!

Of course I will - I'm nothing, if not loyal

La Nouba is amazing, isn't it!? We went last summer with my folks, and we just adored it! We had dinner at WPC prior to the show and thought that the sushi was pretty good. Maybe sushi is the best bet.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe is our first stop on our Deluxe dining plan next week. We're going there for lunch. I'm glad someone posted something current for this restaurant. I'm sorry it wasn't anything that great. We're going at lunch time. Here's hoping that it won't be so crowded. One other question though. Considering the cost of the sushi, was it worth ordering as a main entree? I love sushi and was considering doing this myself. It just didn't look like you get that many pieces for the $$$.

I didn't order it myself but DS(17) is a big eater and he could barely finish his. If you love sushi I think you'll have a great experience there. Have a great time!!!!

Guess that's the plan. I'll order an appetizer then order the sushi for an entree. Hope it's available at lunch time.
