Just got back tonight and couldn't wait to post and say how much I enjoyed the free dining plan!!! Here are some review's of restaurants I went to and what I thought of dining plan:
Table Service:
Le Cellier: A + : I was really suprised and the quality of food here! I had the cheddar cheese soup before at the F&W festival, but had never actually eaten at the restaurant. Everyone at my table order the surf and turf (which was a "special") and it was great! For dessert I had raspberry sorbet which was awesome! We also had a very helpful waitress! Would go back in a heartbeat!
Boma: Dinner - B : I am not one for buffets but have to say I thought Boma was very good...I really enjoyed the salmon and the prime rib...also loved the seafood stew and she crab bisque. I liked the fact that Boma had some African dishes as well as some basic dishes. I think that because I am not a huge fan of buffets, I would probably go back but would consider other options first.
Breakfast B+: Made to order omlettes were great! For the most part a typical breakfast buffet, but very good quality. Would go back for breakfast.
Breakfastasauras Character Breakfast: B-: Food wasn't bad and wasn't great...but the character's did all get around to us very quickly...I still think Crystal Palace is the best breakfast buffet.
Ohana's - B+ : Great service and atmosphere...had an awesome view out to the water and Grand Floridian. I was worried about all the menu changes I had heard about before going but decided to still try it and glad I did! I have to say the meat skewers with the exception of the steak, were not that great... however I would go back just for the appetizers! My favorite was the shrmip wontons and the scalloped potatoes, which were the best potatoes I ever had!! Also the sauteed shrimp were great..I though they were going to havea think sweet and sour sauce on them but it was a light flavoring which made them yummy, just like the chicken wings..also the bread pudding was good but was too full by then to eat much.
Mama Melrose: B-: Food was not as good as years past for some reason...but that said was still good...enjoyed the four cheese flatbread and the fra diavlo...but the worst part was the service...Our waitress was so on top of things at first, but then seemed to disappear halfway through and it took 15 minutes just for dessert to come...still like this place but this experience will make me look at other options for the Fantasmic Dinner Package next time.
California Grill: A+: I think this may have been my favorite restaurant but Le Cellier is right up there too! We asked for a window seat and they said it would be 30 minutes to wait so we said they could put us wherever, we didn't need to wait...well they gave us a window view anyway!! And I was looking right at Cinderella's Castle!! We timed everything so we could watch Wishes form our table and that was so cool! For appetizer I got the California roll which was the best one I ever had anywhere before!! For dinner I got the salmon which was also very good! I think one of my favorite parts was dessert though! If you ever go to California Grill try the Blueberry Bliss! It was heavenly!! This was our last night at Disney and it was perfect!
Counter Service:
The Mara at AKL: Twice I had the fried shrimp platter which was really good. Mara was small but had good selection.
Pinocchio Village Haus: Pizza was eh..but I still love the figaro fries!!
Earl of Sandwich: I am not a sandwich person but loved this place! I got the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich and my bf got the Earl Club...both were really really good!
Dining Plan: I had the dining plan for free this time but would definitely pay for it in th future...Le Cellier and California Grill came out to about $60 a person which makes it worth it right there. It was so great not to worry everyday how much money I was spending on food. I hope this plan stays around for good!
