Okay, here we have for your culinary enjoyment, our first ever dining review. Starring, my lovely DF and myself. Not quite Brad and Angelina, but we have fun anyway.
Sci-Fi Diner
This was our arrival meal. I hadn't eaten here before, but my DF had. She ordered the Coco-Cola BBQ ribs, while I had a cheeseburger with extra cheese. We also split something entitled a Cookie Monster, which was delicious and we would highly recommend. The atmosphere was kitschy and great, the dinners were okay, the dessert was amazing. Our waitress was really attentive and brought over a plate of pickles for my DF who begged me for the ones off of my plate.

CRT Breakfast
This was the surprise of the trip for DF's 30th birthday. The castle didn't disappoint in it's splendor. The princesses were all as charming and beautiful as can be. Sir Steve brought DF a cupcake and certificate, which all of the princesses signed. The food, however, left A LOT to be desired. Let's face it, though. You're not dining in the castle because it has great eggs. (Which, it iccidentally, it doesn't.) This ended up being the most expensive meal of the trip...ICK!

Alfredo's
Okay, here comes the flame war... Is it a glorified Olive Garden or a quite romantic culinary hideway among the World Showcase? Well, somewhere in between. While the food and service were certainly far surperior to any Italian chain, the atmosphere wasn't as nestled away as I'd hoped. DF had the chicken parm, which is only on the lunch menu. It's one of her favorites and Roberto noticed her birthday button and checked to see what he could do to ...er, with the cook. I had the Alfredo. I always ask for extra sauce, because I like it well coated. The food was excellent. While the dishes are a bit different in taste and texture to their Americanized versions, they are still good in their own right. They brought DF a glass of chocolate mousse and sang in Italian to her. She loved it!

Mexico Margerita Stand
I don't drink these. I never developed a liking to them. DF wanted one, and what the Birthday Girl wants, the Birthday Girl gets. She was kind enough to allow me to sip it... it was the best margerita I've had. There was someone on the Dis who suggested picking up the drink and then riding the Rio de Tiempo -- thanks for the sweet idea. It was nice to feel like we were drinking it in Mexico.
Beaches and Cream
After returning from Star Wars Weekend, we were thrilled to see a light crowd here. DF had a cheeseburger and enjoyed it. I had the grilled cheese. I think it's only on the kid's menu, but they let me order it, so... Hey by the way, why wouldn't they? $5.49 is a hefty price for a kids meal. Especially when the regular menu sandwhiches are just fifty cents more! Our waitress looked tired, but was still friendly. Just not overly smiley. Oooh, DF was thrilled to be able to get an authentic Vanilla Coke, I'm told to point out.

DF finally had the much-anticipated Dole Whip Float. She really liked it and could see what the fuss was about. I tasted it, being sure to get a spoonful of juice and cream. I enjoyed it, but I'm not a pineapple fan. Years of accidently mistaking pineapple Life Savers for lemon ones in dark movie theatres, I guess. I had the frozen orange juice. It was a great cold treat on a hot Floridian day. Not sure I would pass up a Mickey bar for it again, though. Maybe...it would depend on my mood.
Le Cellier
This is our favorite. We went for lunch before having to head to the airport. We ordered the cheese soup. DF had a mixed green salad, I had a ceasar. Nothing too heavy for the flight home. Our waitess, Pascale, was so sweet. She gave my DF a card signed by the staff and a choclate dessert with fresh berries on it which was even better than Italy's. My DF had taken her buttons off and her birthday just came up in passing as the reason why we were vacationing. It seemed extra nice as we were leaving WDW right from there. We both have said thay Le Cellier has some of the best salads, and who can resist that soup!
