Me and my girlfriend just came back, had a great trip and I want to say thank you to everyone here. I have not posted here but read many threads. I can't say thank you enough times about the warning to make ADR's. I only read and started doing them about 10 days before we left but with some flexibility it worked out really well. Sitting in restaurant after restaurant and watching people turned away or told 2 hour wait I kept thinking ty DISboards. :)

(excuse me but am not up on the acronyms)

The highlights:
Staff everywhere was a highlight except maybe for one bad hostess at the House of Blues. Otherwise the staff at all venues was always up to Disney standards.

Sci Fi Dine In Theater. On a hot sunny day at noon the cool, dark interior was so welcome. The food was very good. Just drive in staples but nicely made and decent prices. Fun, relaxing place to be.

Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner. So much fun. The food here was again not fancy but plentiful, fresh and very tasty. The beans especially seemed garden fresh. A great meal. Was our one experience with character dining and it was a blast. Watching Chip go for our dessert was hilarious. So much fun.

Fulton's in Downtown Disney. Fantastic. Very pricey, especially for us but a terrific meal. We got seated on the main floor to the right of the entry, very loud, crowded. Asked for a change and no problem, we were escorted to a table at the other end up top in a much quieter, very nice room with a great view across the water. The staff was the best, they never missed anything and the food was perfect. The obvious choices are the best here, the crab and lobster. I'm from Vancouver, Canada, and have not had better crab here.

It was here that I told my girlfriend that in a little while, after we have sorted out some financial issues, when we are ready we are going to get married and I will propose properly with a ring and everything. Sort of a pre-proposal and it was the perfect place to do it. She cried, they played our song, it was the best night of the trip.

The lows:

Getting good seating for 2. Lots of places had the best tables reserved for larger groups and families. Understandable but a bit frustrating. Frequently we'd be in the back, against an odd wall. In the Primetime Diner in MGM it was bad because we ended up with a table that didn't have any of the '50's ambience. some times we could get better by asking but sometimes not.

Marrakesh. We had the deluxe feast. The food was really hit or miss. Some things were very tasty and fresh. Chicken was good, lamb was pretty bad. I've been to a few Morrocan restaurants and this was sub-par. The entertainment was good but we were well in the back and jammed in a bit. The waitress kept bumping our table as she passed. Not worth it at all.

Beyond this, overall it was great dining at all the different places. The counter service was always solid with Tusker House and the counter service at Norway being really great. Outside of disney we ate at the Outback and Carraba's (?) on 192 and enjoyed them very much. Also Raglan's Pub was terrific.

Ty again to everyone here!

Thanks for the reviews. We're Sci Fi Dine In fans - glad to hear you liked it too. I'll be having dinner at LTT for the first time in December, so I enjoyed reading your review. And your evening at Fulton's sounds wonderful. :)

Thanks for sharing. Congratulations on your pre proposal and your forsight in knowing its best to work out your financial issues before tying the knot. That way, you'll enjoy a happy marriage that include plenty of trips to Disney. ;) Good tip regarding Fulton's and asking to be seated someplace else. It's one of our favorite restaurants (also a party of 2) and it gets pretty loud in there.

Thanks for the great reviews-you're right, I don't think I would've made so many ADRs for our trip in June if I hadn't been reading these boards-people are so nice about sharing advice and tips here! We will also be a party of two, so your reviews were especially helpful. And congratulations on your pre-proposal! You sound like a very thoughtful and sensible person. :)

I'm glad you found out some good info here - thanks for the reviews!

What a great night at Fultons for you both!

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Welcome and thanks for the kind comments.

One place I forgot to mention, right across from the Liberty Tree in Magic Kingdom is a covered mini marketplace with individual fresh fruit of different types, drinks and some other nice things. A really nice place to hit on a warm day. Over 1 and 1/2 days we were in there 3 times I think.
