Dining ressie cancellation time - does it have to be 24 hours for no penalty?

Hi all,

Am here now. Last night around 10pm, it let me cancell a breakfast ressie for the following morning.(for this morning)

Will I still be 10& pp for canceling less than 24 hours before? (MDE did let me cancel it but im wondering if there's a penalty)

The policy is to cancel the day before, IIRC. You canceled before midnight, so you should be fine.

I don’t know where people keep coming up with the “24 hour” requirement. There is nothing anywhere that lists hours. All the fine print says “the day before.”

I think it comes from the phrase "one day prior" that Disney uses in the cancellation policy statement. "One day prior" gets translated into "24 hours before the ADR" in people's heads, instead of the actual meaning of "the calendar day before".
