Dining Reservations for April

Hi all, does Disney typically open up more reservations as the weeks progress? We are coming from April 17-22 and have found 0 reservations out there. We are a party of 8 so its probable everything is gone but I have heard they open up more as it gets closer now. We are looking for any restaurant at the MK on 4/20 for dinner preferably. Any help or recommendations are welcomed!

Your best bet is to set up reservation checkers. There are several to choose from, but our larger group has had success with one that offers paid text alerts.

Cancellations will result in ADRs being available as people shuffle their plans around closer to their travel dates- often even the day or two before. Keep checking and, as PP noted, use reservation alerts.

Try dividing into 2 parties of 4. I'm sure you'll find several places available. Also check off times (like 8pm for dinner).

More will open last minute (usually) but that week is easter week + school vacation week, so pickings might be slim.

You may have a better chance at some of the MK resorts. Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge has a dinner res for 4 on the 20th, but not 8 people. Maybe keep checking Grand Floridian Cafe or Kona Cafe.

You should probsbl6 consider dividing into 2 reservations, 4 each.

FYI: Disney does not hold back reservations to release closer to the date. Reservations open when people change or finalize their plans & cancel ADRs they have booked. So ADRs can open at any time. Many people wait til a day a 2 before their ARD & cancel then to avoid the no show fee. So definitely look even while on your vacation. To see what I mean, look at what’s available for tomorrow or the next day. Many popular places show up the night before.

But as a party of 8 you might have a harder time. As others suggested, look for ADRs for 4 at close times. You can always ask to be seated close together when you check in.

Also, make sure you’re counting everyone in your party, even infants. Every one counts, no matter how old.
