Dining reservations for 7

Hi, Planning a trip for Jan 3 for 3 nights. I’ve been checking for reservations and there’s plenty for 6 but minimal for 7. Should I book for 6 and hope they’ll sit the extra person? Or book 2 separate reservations? Thanks for the advice! Would only want three sit downs.

You should be able to get reservations for 7, but reservations for Jan 3rd haven't opened yet. They open at 60 days. That would be November 4th they would open up.

Thanks. Just looking ahead. The last time we were there (6 years ago) we had no plans. Went to WDW in 2019 and planed everything. Now I’d like dining reservations for one meal a day. Will be checking on the 4th. Will have to check what time it is here in Ireland!

I booked last week for our upcoming December trip. Had no problems booking for 7 on the days I wanted them - ’Ohana, Boma, Tusker House, Topolino’s, Homecomin’, Teppan Edo, Via Napoli, Ale & Compass. But we prefer early dinner (4-5pm) so we can eat light while In the parks. Worked backwards from 60+8 and prioritized harder to get locations.

This is the DL side and dining is much more limited, especially for large parties.

OP, I was able to book some for our party of 8, so it’s doable, but they are hard to come by. I would check regularly, starting as soon they release you day. I’m hoping they’ll release more at the 30 day mark, so I continue to check.

I would not plan on just adding an extra person when you show up. You could book two on the different accounts for the same time and ask them if you can be seated together. While usually granted, do know it’s never a guarantee they can do it.

I believe OP is talking about Disneyland.

If you are looking for any DTD reservations, you can always check opentable. Those dates are open for reservations and there is availability for 7 on most that I saw. Disney has been very inconsistent with opening up dates for dining reservations so if there is something you REALLY want, I'd suggest using a 3rd party dining site to get alerts to availability. It's supposed to be 60 but some are doing less or even dropping after the regular drop time of 3am PDT. Just part of the puzzle of planning a Disney trip during these times.
