Dining Reservation Made Today!

Just thought I'd share with everyone here. I just phoned the dining reservation line (UK) and made the dining reservation for our stay in April.

The lady said that Cafe Mickey is closed from 8th of April (until ? end of april) for refurbishment and therefore all characters that usually at Cafe Mickey will be at The Steakhouse (at the village). Also there will be refurbishment taking place at Inventions so the character dining will take place at the California Grill instead (she said same menu, same price just different restaurant).

Glad the dining bit is sorted. Now to another bit of planning.

Thanks for sharing the information about the refurbs at the restaurants but aaaaaagh! I had planned to eat at Cafe Mickey twice during our trip as my kids love it and, being the worlds pickiest eaters, they eat the pizza there. I doubt they'd have anything from the Steakhouse menu

No problem Clare! I love Cafe Mickey too so not really happy when they close it when we are there. Not been to any of the other restaurants ( steakhouse, inventions, california grill) so not sure how they are like. I booked anyway because of characters. Not sure where else should we go for character dining

We'll be there 7-11th. Staying at the cheyenne. How about you? where will you be staying? We havent told the kids yet. Planning to surprise them on the morning before we go. Hope i can contain the excitement until then lol

Aw that'll be great, we've stayed the in our last 2 trips, we love it.

We are staying at Kyriad this time as we have bought APs for the first time. We have lots of firsts this time, first time off site, first time travelling by train and we are going with friends.

We are telling our kids next weekend, I can't keep the secret for much longer!

Do the menus change though ? I seem to remember last time CM closed for a week or so they moved over to the Steakhouse but served CM food.

Could be worth asking and would make sense as the prices and choices are very different

Yes i supposed thats a good question to ask them. Maybe need to phone them again tomorrow and ask.

I will, no probs. I'll phone just as soon as I can without the kids being around, I'm not sure if the dining dept is open the same hours as the regular booking line.

I have just called and it will be the usual Steakhouse menu

I guess we'll just have to try and make it to the DLH at 4pm to see the characters there on the Thurs, if that still runs. Inventions/Cali Grill is out with our budget!
