We're all set for our week at Disney World in mid-May! We have our meal reservations all booked, but if we add a few more just to be able to sit and drink beer and wine at MK, is this allowed? We'd def hook up our server with a nice tip, but I don't know if you HAVE to order food when booking a dining reservation.

If you are going to a restaurant that has a prix fixe menu (CRT, BOG, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree), then no, that wouldn't work, because the prix fixe is charged to everyone at the table. If you are going to a restaurant with an a la carte menu (Skipper Canteen, Tony's, The Plaza) you can just order drinks and nothing else.

Also, just to add another option, you could always hop out of the park and visit a lounge at a monorail resort or take the boat to WL and have a drink at geyser point. Takes more time, but you wouldn't need a reservation and I find it can be nice to take a break and get away for a bit on MK days as that park is so exhausting with all the massive lines.
