Dining Reservation and RotR?

What is WDW doing about people whose RotR return time conflicts with dining reservations? We have a 1/2 day planned at HS and the late afternoon evening at MK with a dinner reservation at Skipper Canteen. I am concerned that if my RotR return time doesn't end up being until early evening, we will have to forgo dinner and be charged the $10 pp fee. That doesn't seem fair to me. We will either have to give up riding RotR or give up dinner. Has anyone experienced this yet?

They have waived the fee but keep in mind you have 2 hours after your bg is called to return. So even if your adr and bg get called at the same time you will most likely have the chance to do both.
