Planning our first trip in September. Got all ADR's made but 1. Not really impressed by the dining options at Hollywood Studios---can anyone suggest a good Resort to eat at that doesn't involve too much traveling. We're staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and will have our 3 children (7, 4 and 9 months). I was thinking about Whispering Canyon Café at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge . . . is it easy to get to from our resort or Hollywood Studios?

Thank you.

There is some pictures on my facebook page located on my signature. We had a great meal at Olivia's at Old Key West and we also ate at WCC. Hope the pictures help.

As far as travel we always drive so we have our vehicle so we use that but I would think the best way would be to eat where you are closest to.

WCC is quite a distance from both your resort and DHS. If you are using Disney transportation it will take some time to get to/from. If you are going to be at DHS, I'd eat at one of the 5 Epcot area resorts.

I am taking that you guys will be at Hollywood Studios,If you want to stay close and dont really want to leave the park Sci Fi is not that bad. When I am at Hollywood Studios I will be eating at Cape May for dinner at the Beach Club, but any resort near Hollywood Studios would work, also there is a couple of options at the Boardwalk.

What about Boatwrights at POR, we ate there a few years ago and enjoyed it, it would be a nice short walk for you. Or how about taking the boat to DTD for a meal. Or you could walk or take the boat from HS to the Boardwalk or BC/YC for a nice meal, we love Cape May Cafe and enjoyed the Turf Club last year and it was never crowded the last 2 years we ate there. Not sure if you are on the DDP or Paying OOP or what exactly you are looking for. We are trying Flying Fish at the BW this year and I can't wait. Also trying Raglan Road again at DTD and eating at Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Good luck with your decision!

Another one here for Sci Fi Cafe... my kids love it. YOu sit in a car and watch drive in movies.. my kids are always so quiet in there... Its always nice and cool and dark too. ITs a relaxing lunch and you are not on top of eachother.. food isnt too bad...

I love Cape May Cafe @ the Beach Club. Just a boat ride over from Hollywood Studios :thumbsup2

Boatwrights would be good. Or Olivias at Old Key West--it's the resort almost next door to POR.
Or take the boat from POR and eat any any of the DD restaurants.

I would suggest taking the boat to DD and eating at one of the restaurants there. They have a lot of good choices. The boat ride is very relaxing too.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe has the best food. It really was the most delicious meal of our last two trips (December 08 and August 09). :cloud9:

It would just be a short boat ride from your resort, too.

My DD loved it during our trip last summer, when she was 5. It's one of the few "non-signature" restaurants to offer really good options for kids' meals. So many other Disney restaurants do not.

During our last trip, we enjoyed our meal at Wolfgang Puck Cafe so much, that we cancelled our ADRs at both Kona Cafe and Whispering Canyon Cafe to go back to Wolfgang's. It was that good!

We have friends who just returned from WDW and they really liked Kouzzina. You could take the boat from DHS to BW and be right there. It's a really nice boat ride, and friends say the food at KZ was terrific! We are going to do this while at WDW, based on their recommendations.

Another vote for Sci Fi. Theme is great! Also the 50's Prime Time has good food and great decor. If you must leave the park for lunch choose a place at one of the Epcot Resorts. Boat ride is 15-20 minutes. All other resorts would require too much travel time.

50's is good and fun. Love the milkshakes! Mama Melrose is also good. But, if neither sound good, I would go to DTD and go to WP or WPE.

I think the Brown Derby as as good or better than any of the places mentioned so far. The 50's Diner is also great for comfort food.

I would recommend Mama Melrose. It gets mixed reviews but we really enjoyed our meal there a couple of years ago. We have no need to eat there again as we rent a car and there are so many more options, but if we needed to eat at DHS that would be the place for us.

We really like Sci-Fi at DHS. We have not yet tried Brown Derby, but that is on the list. If you are at DHS, you can take a boat to the Epcot resorts, and eat at Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club, and Swan & Dolphin. There are a lot of restaurants over there, including 4 signature dining options - Flying Fish, Yachtman's Steakhouse. The Bluezoo and Shulas at Swan & Dolphin don't allow (encourage kids). There are many others - Cape May character breakfast and non-character dinner, Captain's Grille, Beaches 'n Cream.

As for WL, it is behind MK, so you would need a bus ride to a theme park, and then bus from to WL from there. Or, you could bus to MK and then boat over to WL. If you have your own car, it is still quite a trip. I think it is a really long trip.

From POFQ, as another poster suggested, you can take a boat to DTD where there are many restaurants. For Olivia's at OKW or Turf Club at SSR, you would have to boat from POFQ to DTD then boat back to OKW or SSR.
