I know in order to get dining plan you have to purchase at least one day of park passes. Does anyone know if tickets for water park count as a ticket to go along with dining plan? I already have tickets from my last visit to FL.

As far as I know, it has to be at least a one day base ticket to one of the theme parks.

If you purchase it with the no expiration option, you can always upgrade later on (to an AP for example).

To give you a better explanation of this

In order to get the DDP you must purchase a MYW package with Dining, all MWY packages include theme park tickets.

You cannot get around this.

You also don't need to buy the non-expiration option if you're not using the ticket. Unused Disney tickets don't expire and the 14 day countdown doesn't start until the first time you actually use the ticket.

If you have the dining plan for say 10 days with 10 days of tickets do you have to use the dining plan the first 10 days or if you can use the tickets for 14 days after first use can you use the dining plan coupons the same way?

No the dining is based on the dates you are staying in the resort

I agree with Trekker's answer above and I just wanted to add this info- the dining plan credits do expire at midnight on the day you check out - for example, if you check out of your resort on a Monday, you have until midnight that Monday to use any "leftover" credits. There's no carry-over on dining credits, so you'll usually see people trying to figure out what they can take with them on their trip home at the last minute!
