We were planning on eating lunch in the park, partaking fully of the HH offerings both liquid and non liquid ;) My question is - our plan is to hit City Walk and just have apps and a couple of drink with DS 12, and DD 9. Will this plan work - obviously if we or the kids are hungry we will order more food, but generally should this be enough? Should I makes ressos? What recommendations for atmosphere/nibbles/kids - anywhere not appropriate? We will have just come off 10 days of DP so I'm pretty sure food will be secondary by this part of our trip. :lmao:

For atmosphere, Margaritaville is fun. For food & atmosphere, we like the patio at Pat O'Briens. The flaming fountains are interesting to watch. If your kids do want food, Pat O's has the best burgers at CW, IMHO. They're big enough to share. They have some great appetizers too. If being able to walk straight isn't a priority, try a Hurricane. :p They used to have some great Happy Hour deals. I'm not sure what they offer now. We got take-out on our last visit there, & didn't check out HH. I'm sure someone knows. :)

It will be an After Eight kind of evening so the Hurricane sounds Fab :thumbsup2 I'm sure most nights we will be cooked from the sun and in bed early. The boys, DH and DS12 will be doing HHN's 2 of our 4 nights and DD9 and I will be hanging out at the pool so really it's only two nights and since Margaritaville is a shoo in, we only have one night. I am so excited I can't stand it :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Thanks for the advice.. could not have planned this fabulous trip without the help of everyone like you out there :grouphug: yeah, a bit corny okay but true....

I looked it up & Pat O's great HH deals are on Tuesdays from 4pm to 10pm. It's called 2 for Tuesdays & many of the cocktails & most of the appetizers are BOGO. I'll hope you'll be there on a Tuesday to take advantage of it. :)

so, even though, IMO, Pat's is a "bar" the kids can still experience it? I have never been to NO, but DH has (has relatives there), and has talked about PAt O'Briens a lot. If we could order appetizers, or food, and just sit and listen to the music it would be great!

Many people don't mention it on these boards, but CityJazz is our favorite place to got. On monday nights they have Karaoke, tuesday & wednesday they have a band, and thursday thru sunday it is a comedy club. The live band also plays after the comedians on thursday thru sunday.

CityJazz has great appeitizer dished as well as a few full dishes and desserts. And they never fail on the drinks!

Yes, its OK for kids too. I believe up until 9P-10P the kids are welcome and they even have a children's menu. You can have a look at the menu here.

The patio & Pat O's is a nice, relaxing place to sit in the evening. We've seen lots of families there. No really young kids though. I don't know how late they're allowed, but we've seen kids out there pretty late. The piano bar isn't kid friendly though. Other than Emeril's & Latin Qtr., Pat O's is by far our fav. location at CW. We go to Emeril's & LQ for a different experience than we go to Pat O's for. It just depends what we're in the mood for.

:offtopic: Just curious if you made it to Latin Quarter this past trip? We didnt get there in May and we usually eat there. I never see anyone post about it and wondered if all was still good there. Thanks!

Sorry, we didn't make it either. With your memory, I'm sure you remember we had a hard time fitting in all the places we wanted to eat. :p I wish we would have skipped a couple others & gone there though. We'll most likely go next visit & I'll report back with an updated opinion. :teeth: I sure hope nothing's changed recently.

I wish!!! No, we arrive Wednesday, check out Sunday.

Special Alert!!! Hurricane Warning!!!

No, not that kind. :teeth: For those who've never tried a Pat O's Hurricane, consider sharing the 1st one to get a feel for them. They can be lethal.

Right on, Tarheelfan :thumbsup2

The hurricanes at OB's can be way lethal. This is actually one of the factors we think about when deciding to stay on or off site. If we stay on site, we can each have two 'canes and crawl back to the HRH.

Although, one time we made the mistake of thinking we could bring the tasty beverage back to our room in a plastic cup they provide there at the restaurant. Security guy at the foot of the walkway going to the HRH said no, no ... must finish it or chuck it right there. Chuck it??? He make joke, ha-ha. It was freezing cold that night, so we just sat on the bench there and both of us slammed those suckers. Suffered quite the hangover the next day -- good day for Epcot ... slow rides, soft, quiet music, a little hair of the dog later in the day at WS. Ahh, memories!
