Dining Plans confuse me!

If they had Butterbeer at Epcot, I'd never leave.

Hello!

I need help trying to decide if adding the Standard Dining Plan to my trip is worth it. It will be just my husband and I on the trip. I've never used a Disney Dining Plan before because they confuse me and I honestly just haven't put a lot of thought into it. I'm going to list my current dining plans and i'd appreciate some opinions on whether or not I could benefit from the DDP.

Monday, Sept 11th: Epcot day. PPO ADR Garden Grill at 8:20 am and then F&W festival snacking the rest of the day. Have an 8pm ADR at San Angel to relax until the fireworks with some drinks/appetizers (not committing to ordering meals b/c of previously mentioned F&W snacking).

Tuesday, Sept 12th: MK day. PPO ADR at BOG for breakfast. Planning to eat something QS for lunch. Park closes at 7, so we are going have dinner somewhere in Disney Springs.

Wednesday, Sept 13th: Going to Universal this day. Going to MK in the evening for fireworks/EMH.

Thursday, Sept 14th: AK day. Only thing I have booked is ADR at Yak & Yeti for a late lunch. Will prob do Satuli in Pandora for dinner.

Friday: HS day. Only thing i have booked is lunch at Sci-FI. We fly out this evening.

Would this schedule benefit from the DDP? or should i just pay OOP like i normally do?

thanks!

If you don't plan on eating at least three-four times a day (including snacks), then paying for Dining Plan is too much wasted food.

We were a party of three, with the Standard plan ; we had to eat like every 3.5 hours just to use our credits for the day.

Yes they rollover, but at the end we had 42 snack credits because of all the rollover and no way to use them!!! We had to pack a checked bag that was NOTHING but Mickey-branded candy because otherwise it was a waste of the credits.

I priced it out with a dining plan calculator. I don't think we could eat enough food to make it worthwhile, especially because we aren't big dessert people. Just google dining plan calculator and seehow you come out.

It will be just my husband and I on the trip.
Generally speaking, when you only have adults on the plan, then it will cost more than it's worth. Since the plan confuses you and you already have set plans, it seems unlikely that you'd be willing or interested in the effort required to maximize the value from the dining plan.

I agree with the others. The only time we use it is when it's "free" and only because we have the two kids who will have fun at character meals. If it was just my husband and I, we probably wouldn't just b/c we aren't big character meal people and wouldn't do as many TS meals.
