Hello
I am considering renting points and I wanted to know if it was possible to add the dining plan? I know in the past I was able to do this, but, that was many years ago and I do not know if that is still an option. If so, what would the cost be?

Yes, there are three Dining Plans available The Quick Service plan, the standard Disney Dining Plan and the Deluxe Plan may be added to rental reservations. It must be paid at the time it is added to the reservation. And basically follows the same rules as the dining plans offered to cash guests. Everyone in the room must have the same dining plan for the entire length of the reservation.
The cost for 2015 is
QS: $41.99 adult $16.03 child (9 and under) per night
Standard: $60.64 adult $19.23 child per night
Deluxe: $109.53 adult $29.86 child per night

Plans may be added through MyDisneyExperience.com once you have your reservation confirmation, or through the DVC owner from whom you rent. Plans must be added at least 48 hours prior to check-in.

2016 prices are not yet showing on the member website.

Added through MDE? Never seen an option there.

Hmmm....Perhaps not. I thought I remembered seeing it when we had several different rooms reserved for a big group. I don't have any current reservations to double check DME and see if there is a DDP add-on.

No, you cannot add a dining plan through MDE. For a DVC reservation, only the owner can add the plan to the reservation, either online or over the phone.

For the DVC, many events, options, perks have to be reserved through DVC for accounting purposes. When DVC executives are in the yearly meeting selling the CEO on why DVC is worth keeping, they need to be able to present all revenue producing elements. If DVC members book anything through Disney direct, DVC doesn't get the credit.
