I just returned from WDW a few days ago and ate the most wonderful food using the Basic Dining Plan. In addition, I met some fantastic people from all over the world. On this trip it was me, DD, and her BFF. I tried to get as many pictures as possible, but my camera died for most of the trip.

For the first TS meal we ate at Tutto Italia. Loved this place!

To start we were given bread and a plate of olives and artichoke hearts. Both delicious!

For the main course I had Cannelloni al Forno, and DD and BFF had Penne Caprese. BFF loved it, but DD wished she had ordered the Cannelloni.

For dessert BFF and I had the Mocha Terimisu (WOW- a slice of heaven), and DD had the Chocolate Torta which she thought was wonderful

Our second TS meal was dinner at Tusker House. I'm sorry this review isn't very good, but there was so much food that I didn't write it all down. This restaurant had a variety of Indian, African and American Food, and I actually liked it better than BOMA. If you go to ALLEARS.net I pretty much put a dab of everything listed on the menu on my plate (minus the cold cuts). For dessert I only tried the Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce. It tasted like cinnamon goodness, but a tad dry. You could literally roll me out after this meal! DD and BFF enjoyed Tusker House as well. If you don't want to leave AK for dinner- this is the place to eat!:thumbsup2

Now I really wished my camera would be working by now, because this was one or our favorite meals. The food was sooooo yummy and the service was outstanding!

The CM's started out by bringing us a mixed green salad with honey-lime dressing. This was good, but nothing to write home about.

Then we were brought Honey Coriander Chicken Wings. These were so good and I'm not a wing person!

Next we had Pork Dumplings with Sweet n Sour Sauce. I'm a huge pot sticker fan, so I could have eaten these solo and left the place happy. Stir fried broccoli and a separate plate of lo mien was brought to our table around this time as well. I thought the broccoli was cooked perfect. The noodles were very unique. I thought they'd taste like Chinese Chow Mein, but instead they tasted like plain homemade Italian pasta with a nice Asian sauce on them. I could taste the flour which wasn't a bad thing.:)

Afterward we were brought BBQ pork loin, sirloin steak, and peel n eat shrimp (all BBQ'd on skewers). The Pork loin was tasty, but there was a little pink showing, so in my head I had a hard time eating it. The pork was DD's favorite meat of the three. The steak was a little rare and fantastic, and the shrimp was delicious. We weren't offered any turkey, but by the time dessert came around our clothes were getting tight anyway!

Last- the best part. OMG the best bread pudding served with bananas and caramel sauce (I didn't taste or notice any bananas though). BFF thought it was okay since she didn't like the texture, but DD and I couldn't get enough. So moist, so delicious! Sorry Tusker house your bread pudding just got blown out of the house!

For lunch during our DHS visit we ate at 50's Prime Time Cafe.

I had Mom's Old Fashioned Pot Roast for my main meal and like it well enough. The meat was juicy and tender with little fat showing. For dessert I had the Lowfat Angel Food Cake with berries. Yummy!

DD had Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie and she thought it was good, but not magnificent.

BFF had the Fried Chicken and LOVED it, and she LOVED the collard greens it came with. She couldn't say enough about her meal. I'm not a fried food person, but I couldn't help but eyeball her plate. If she was my DD I would have snagged a bite.

Both girls had Dad's Brownie Sundae for dessert. It was huge and they went to town on it! It was so hot and muggy- it didn't look refreshing to me otherwise I would have gotten one too!

OP, if you're a lover of bread pudding (and I can tell that you are ;) ), you need to try Ger's Bread Pudding at Raglan Road. It's pretty amazing!

thanks so much for your reviews....we are trying Tutto Italia, for the first time and also PRime time and Tusker house....so your reviews came at a good time.....I had heard that the fried chicken at Prime Time were the best and that will be what I am going to order.....thanks again for taking the time to show us some photos and give us your reviews.....

I'll have to give Ger's Bread Pudding a try next! How can you tell I love bread pudding? lol :rotfl:

Your welcome! :goodvibes

This is the one place I eat at during every WDW trip I take. However, it was so HOT and HUMID that I just didn't feel like eating hot food, and I was tempted to cancel. I'm glad I didn't- the food was outstanding. The young ladies I was with thought the workers were cute too? They loved the Moroccan and Norwegian boys on this trip. Oh to be young again... back to the meal review.

First we had bread which was a soft thick naan, and then I paid OOP for a serving of Chicken Bastilla- it was layers of thin pastry with minced chicken and almonds, topped with sprinkled cinnamon and powered sugar. I could have eaten this for my entree. I highly recommend it.

For our entrees BFF ordered the Lemon Chicken and thought it was out of this world. It was seasoned with lemon, green olives, and garlic.

DD had the Chicken couscous and thought it was flavorless- I took a bite and have to agree. DD wished she had ordered my entree- this was the norm for our whole trip.

I had the Mogador Fish Tagine. It was marinated white fish with olives, lemon confit, green and red bell peppers, and potatoes smothered in a Shermula sauce. Gosh I'm getting hungry thinking about it. A must try if you like fish. I did manage to get a rather large picture of it. The picture doesn't do the meal justice though. Sorry- I'm still trying to get the hang of this tech. stuff.

For dessert the girls had the Moroccan Symphony which was basically Baklava. DD loves Baklava and said it didn't compare to the kind we get in CA. I ordered the Marrakesh Delight. It was fruit salad topped with mint ice cream, toasted almonds, and orange blossom water. The fruit was fresh and yummy. I didn't eat the ice cream, but it melted down a little into the fruit and blossom water, so I could taste a hint of mint. This was a refreshing dessert.

Sorry no pics again! DD is supposed to be sending me them later this week.

I tried very hard to get ressies at CRT for breakfast or lunch, but no luck! I ended up with an 8:30PM dinner time, and after reading poor dinner reviews- I was a little nervous. Well I had no reason to fret- dinner was better than I expected.

For appetizers: I had the Castle Salad. It was a green salad with blue cheese and raspberries, mixed with a light dressing. The salad was mediocre at best.
DD had the Corn and Crab Soup and licked every last drop out of the bowl.
BFF had the egg roll and thought it was great.

For the main course- I had the Pan Seared Salmon. It was cooked perfectly! Moist and tender in the middle and pan seared on the sides with a nice glaze on top!
DD had the Lemon Lavender Chicken. She liked it well enough, but once again wished she ordered the salmon. I tried a bite and liked the salmon much better.
BFF had the Cavatappi Pasta. It was pasta tossed with ricotta cheese and had a mild marinara sauce on it. She thought the texture was odd and didn't care for it. I think they need to come up with a different pasta dish.

For dessert we all had the Chocolate Cream Cheese Buckle. It was like eating a stuffed cupcake with chocolate sauce on it. We gobbled it up!;)

Overall I thought my food was excellent, but if it weren't for eating at CRT for the first time- I don't think it was worth 2 TS credits. Since this was our first time- I'm glad we experienced it.

When the fairy God-mother was doing her routine and giving her little speech- the lights flickered and I got teary eyed. DD and BFF laughed at me. Something reminded me of my childhood at Disneyland. For a first timer who likes the whole castle Cinderella scene- this is a great place to eat.

By the way- a tip of 18% was included on the bill. When I questioned the waiter regarding the tip- he said Disney pays him, and that is part of the reason we use 2 TS credits. This is the only TS meal that I had that actually included a tip. I paid oop for the others.

As soon as DD sends me the food pictures I will post them.

I'm glad you had an enjoyable dinner at CRT. We ate breakfast there last year and Cinderella told him don't forget to visit me next time you came again so my son told me don't forget we need to eat in the castle again. So I told him we can visit Cinderella at Toontown but he said no mommy Cinderella wants me to visit her at her home the castle so please can we ate there again. We are going on the Deluxe dinning but I dont like the lunch selection and I don't think its worth 2 TS but what can you do when a 4 yr old says that. I hope I can get breakfast but if not I'll try dinner. Thank you for sharing.

Oh, that is too cute and practically irresistible!

Great reviews! You covered some of my faves (Tusker House, Prime Time) and some new ones I want to try next trip (Tutto adn Ohana)

I agree that Tusker is just as good or better than Boma, although the scenery at the AKL is hard to beat.

More reviews (and CRT Pics!) :yay:
