dining plan when renting dvc

thinking about renting a dvc for next year. Am courious I know I read somewhere that dvc could do dining plan now. So can you get the dining plan if you rent points from someone or is this reserved for the owners only. if you can get dining plan has anyone done this yet. if so was it fairly simple or did you have to go through the person you rented from to get the dining plan.

I just rented from someone for October and he did offer the dining plan. We have the DDE card and AP's, so I did not take it.

Yes you can purchase the DDP when you rent. Nice thing is that you do not have to buy any package that includes tickets. We are doing this in about a week. can't wait

Just a note, DVC will not allow anyone at this time to add the dining plan to 2007 reservations. All member "perks" are not guaranteed year to year and we'll have to wait to see if this will be extended.

The above does not mean that the DDP will not be available to DVC in 2007. It means that we do not know yet. It was not one of the benefits that were promised when we purchased. That means it is categorized as a "perk" and perks are subject to change.

Another benefit to the DDP with a DVC stay is that you do not have to pay for the DDP until you check in!

They're not allowing us to book either the Dining Plan or Magical Express, yet, for 2007. However, I suspect that both will be offered once the 2007 rates are released at the end of this month.

We just got back Tuesday from a two day stay at SSR (quickie last minute trip).Rented points and added the dining plan just a week before we left and paid for it at check in. Everything went very smoothly.

We're renting for Nov., and I just booked the dining plan. Our confirmation letter says that the request must be made before check-in. I called member services myself to add it. The rep added it to our reservation, but we don't have to pay for it until check-in.
