I apologize if this has been answered in a previous thread.

I just got off the phone with ADR, and asked if we could split the check, using credits and paying out of pocket. Since this may be considered grand larceny by the CM i spoke with ;) :teeth: , she told me all or nothing.

has anyone got back recently, or who is still at WDW, who can definitively say what the actual experience is? thanks.

You Definitely ARE able to split the check .....in our case, one night my parents are meeting us for dinner at Coral Reef. We are on the meal plan, but they are not. I am going to pay for their dinner with cash, while I use credits for my wife, myself and kids.

I will tell the server this at the beginning....if they want to do seperate checks and give me one to pay cash and one to pay with the dining plan, they can do that. I know there are tons of posts I've read about people that have mixed groups at a meal, some with meal plans and some without. Some people have paid for their kid's meals OOP and used their meal plan for the adults, saving credits for signature meals. As long as you tell the server ahead of time what you want to do, it should be fine.

much appreciated. haven't read the boards in a while, and was afraid there was a change.

ain't it strange that i trust the info on the DIS more than calling disney themselves? :earsboy:

No, it's always been that way. Disney has some of the worst internal communications of any major company. That's why the guests usually know what's going on before the CMs. I can give you some horror stories about it that I have personally witnessed.

we had no problems 3 weeks ago splitting checks . I just told the server at the begining what was going to be credits and what we were paying for

We plan to do this too. We have a large group going in September, some are on the dining plan, while some are not. I imagine there will be 2 checks, one for credits and one for cash. I'm sure our group is not the only group that has done this. There will be different folks joining us on different nights. I'm not concerned at all about Disney dining accommodating us, I'm sure they'll make it happen.

We also had this experience last week when my father and his wife joined us for lunch at the Biergarten. In fact, we wound up with 3 checks. One for dad and wife, one for DH, DD11, and me, and one because we paid for our beers and DD7 OOP. The server was great about it!
