Dining Plan & Renting

I have some points available to rent so I checked out the rent board since I haven't been on the boards for a long time and I noticed that rentees are asking for the Dining Plan. Are they just asking us to reserve the dining plan for them? I have only used the plan once and I can't remember how it works. The last thing I want to do is pay for a dining plan and ask them to reimburse me. When does Disney require payment?

I just stayed at OKW courtesy of a friend's DVC points. She had to call Member Services to request the dining plan for us (and you have to purchase it for all of your party, for every night of your stay). We paid for the plan at check-in; no money exchanged hands between us and the member at all for the dining plan. It was all very easy! You do have to request it in advance, though; we were told to make our request at least three days before check-in.

Only DVC owners can speak with DVC about reservations. Any changes and any additions like the Dining Plan or Magical Express will have to be made through Member Services by the owner. You will pay for the Disney Dining Plan during check-in at the resort. You can make your own dining reservations through the Disney dining number.

So, you as the owner will ask that the Dining Plan be added, but the renter will pay for it at check-in.
