Dining Plan Questions!

Hello!

I'm planning a Disney trip for a group of 9 people in November, and this will be my first time staying on property! I'm very much a Type A kind of person, and like to have as many details as possible going into it, and as such, have a few questions!

We have the Standard Disney Dining Plan. I assume each person is able to manage their own credits via their phone and magicband? At the end of a table-service dinner, do we each tap magicbands to remove credits, or is it done table-wide?

As well, in regards to splitting up a counter-service credit into snack credits, who will we want to speak with to have that happen?

With that said, if you all have your own separate MDE accounts, the server will need to tap into each person's MB to use the credit. Also you can go to most snack shops, and tell them you'll like to use your quick service dining for snack credits and they'll deduct it (I believe its 3 snacks per dining credit - but I've only gone on Deluxe Dining so the calculation may be different on the Standard Dining).

Thanks so much! I wasn't sure which would be a better spot.

That makes sense. Everyone except for one person is on my account, so I'll have to make sure to get everyone set up with accounts before we go!

Actually, all credits for the room are pooled together (aside from Child credits, those are handled differently). There is nothing stopping person A from using 10 credits and person B from using 5 credits.

At TS restaurants they will scan one Magicband per room.

Dining plan is by room, not by person unless you each have your own room. If all 9 are staying in one villa, then everyone’s credits are combined. That means one person can use up all the snacks themselves. No way to allocate them by magicband. You need to have some rules set up beforehand.

For meals, only one magic band per room is scanned and the correct number of credits will be deducted.

OP never stated if all are in the same room, I assumed with a party of 9, they have separate rooms.

Ah, in that case, when you all eat together, each room will have to tap one band to charge their meal to their dining plan.

Just an aside note: when you all eat together, you will be charged to automatic gratuity, but they will assign the correct amount to each check.
