I know the rules for the dining plan but my question is why does everyone in the room have to take it. My husband and I love it but I have a 15 year old that is a fussy eater and only eats off the kids meal. Why can't i just get for my husband and I an pay out of pocket for my son. Disney is not loosing money I still have to feed my son. It isn't a problem with the restaurants if you pay Pay out of pocket for some people while others are on the DP we have done that when my daughter meets us for diner. Not trying to start a debate I am just wondering. Thanks Michelle

sorry, but it does work that way. Everyone registered in the same room must be on the same dining plan. You can't pick and choose which party members to put on the plan, it's everyone or no one. No doubt this is to simplify the package booking. You also have to get the same tickets for everybody on a package.

However, you can take the plan, pay out of pocket for children's meals for your son, and use his adult credits for the other adults in the party to have an extra meal. Of course this will not work at buffets, AYCE restaurants, fixed price restaurants, meal packages and dinner shows; at any of those you would be paying the full adult price for your son anyway, so you might as well use a dining credit.
