Dining Plan Question

A friend of mine is going to WDW with her husband, four children and her parents. Her parents are going to be in a room on their own. They're doing a couple of nights on property and a couple of nights at either the Dolphin or the Swan.

I know that the dining plan is tied to the room. Her parents want to do the Deluxe for the time they are on property but my friend and her husband can only afford the one TS/one QS a day plan. Can her parents use their extra meals (because they won't end up using them all at TS restaurants) for my friend and her family?

I am sure that this will stir up some opinions but please know I'm just asking for my friend.

No, they can't. The credits are tied to the reservation and may not be used for others not on that reservation. In any event, the parents will be limited to ordering 2 meals at any one tine, because that's how many people are on their reservation.

Why do they want DxDP if they aren't going to use it? Why not do the regular and go OOP on somethings or just do OOP the whole time?

I think her parents are trying to help them out without just handing them the money.
