Dining plan or not spread sheet?

I am sure it has been asked many times, sorry

With it not looking so hot about getting free dining during our vacation time, I need to start being realistic and budget out more money for the trip.

I recall someone posting a spreadsheet that compares the cost of what you eat vs cost of dining plan, to see if better to get plan or out of pocket.

Hoping someone will share it. Thank you

That's so cool!

We did DP with 5 people for the first time in February. I saved every receipt (much to the annoyance of my family...lol) and calculated when we got home. We spent $100 more on the plan than we would have paying out of pocket.

I guess in the grand scheme of a Disney trip, it's not a huge difference in price, and being on the DP was very convenient. We didn't go crazy picking the most expensive restaurants or ordering the most expensive meals, we just ate pretty much like we normally do (with many more desserts) and saw where that left us.

We're going again in September and might try it one more time. Now that I found this thread, I'm def. going to look into it!

Too many desserts is why I won't buy the dining plan. Not sure why you couldn't get a salad in lieu of a dessert.
