Dining Plan--moving resorts

We are DVC members and our home resort is GF, we also just bought pts at the new RR and will be staying there in 6/2020. Our plan is to stay 4 nights at the RR and then move to GF for another 4 nights. Does anyone know how/if this will affect the DP? Do we need to have two separate DP's since Disney considers this two separate vacations because we are moving resorts, or will one do it covering our whole stay?

Two separate dining plans needed if you want one for the entire stay.

Just general information: this is 100% standard in the hotel industry. It's not just Disney, and they didn't initiate it. Any time you check out of one hotel and check into another, your stays have absolutely no connection to each other.

You'll need two and they are not connected except in what happens on your transfer day. You'll have to use ALL the credits from the first stay (including snacks) before you can access the credits from the second stay, so make your dining plans accordingly.
