I know the dining plan isn’t currently available, but when it is I was wondering how it works with split stays? I know if you did a regular resort split stay, the dining plan was tied to your resort stay so you’d have two separate dining plans if you wanted to have it for your entire stay. Is it tied to the room reservation for DVC as well?

I had a similar question on this regarding split stay in hotel with linked reservation. When dining plans come back could I split stay into two at a resort, link in hopes don’t move rooms, and get deluxe dining for one of stays so have it for part of stay without having to get it for all days (all days would be lot of food)?

No you can not do that. They eliminated it years ago. It only works is you have a different room type or different resort.

So probably not a good idea to get the plan for the first split?

I have done it and it isn’t really a big deal other than as mentioned, credits from first stay have to be used up before 2nd stay credits open up.

For example, if you wanted to use 2 TS credits for a signature, you can’t save some from the first stAy to combine with the 2nd stay.

Actually, I encourage it for the first part of a split stay, especially if you don't think you will use all of the food and snack -- especially if you have a 1BR/2BR with a full kitchen on the second stay. DH and I would do a "shopping spree" with our remaining snack and quick service credits, focusing on prepared meals like sandwiches or foods we don't mind reheating, pastries or cereals for breakfast, etc. We often have many snack credits and sometimes a few quick service left over, so this "stocks us up" for the second half of the trip, where we tend to rely more on our TIW card for discounts. :)

I’m hoping the QSDP is back by late Aug 2021 as I’m looking to split stay and have 3 days at BWV to use those credits for F&W.

converting QS to 3 snacks was very useful, especially as some items were $9

Do you do your “shopping spree” right after you’ve checked into your next resort? Just trying to figure out the logistics of transferring perishable foods between hotels lol!

Yes! We’d check in and then head over to the Quick Service location to do the “shopping” (unless there were things at the first resort we wanted. Then we shopped before checking out and had them transferred over with our luggage).

This is great idea I’ll likely try at some point in future. Do you know how it works with kids meal plan? Can they also use Kids QS credit for 3 snacks?

A few years back I heard a CM tell someone it was 2 for kids. But I have never experienced so it may not be accurate.

Not true at all. There's no distinction in the plan.

Yeah, that's the thing; there's no such thing as an "adult" QS credit. There are only QS credits.

Not for meals. They now differentiate. That I know for sure as when my son went in 2019, his kids credits were not the same as his adult ones...they are now done differently and you can’t use kids QS for adult meals.

It was the same for my niece who went in January.

I was referring to when a person wants to exchange QS for snacks...I know as an adult they give you 3 snacks per meal.

Wow, you're right. I guess I've been out of it for a while. Looks like that changed at the beginning of this year.
