does everyone in the room have to have the same plan if we are renting points from a DVC owner?

We are 2 families of 4 each (8 total people), staying in a 2 bedroom villa, the other family only wants to cook meals in the room (no dining out at all), we want either the regular or deluxe dining plan. Can our family of 4 get the dining plan and them get none?

I think that either everyone on the reservation has to have the dining plan or no one gets to have the dining plan.

Yep, PP is correct. You all have to do the same plan if you are in the same room (and even though it is called a 2-bedroom villa, it is still considered one "room" for reservations sake). I suppose you could get the dining plan for all of you and then you pay for all of it and you get to use all the credits, but that would be a LOT of credits to use. Maybe you could strike a deal with them so that they can use some of the credits (they really don't want to ever eat out of the room?) and you can have the rest and make a way of dividing the cost so that all feel that it is fair. But since you said that you were considering the DxDP, maybe it would work. I don't know, that would be for you to figure out and run the numbers.

thanks for the quick responses.

I have a questionable question that is associated with the previous one.

We rented the room before the in-laws (DHs DB, DS-in-law, DNew, DNeice) decided they wanted to join us, so far only our families names are on the reservation. The room is rated to hold 8 people.

Do we have to add their names to the reservation?

They are buying their tickets from undercover tourists. They just wouldn't be able to do EMHs (no KTTW card).

Put on your flame-resistant suit, you may catch some heat for that one.

I would say yes, you need to add their names. I could go into all kinds of details about emergencies that could necessitate WDW knowing they are there (which are, of course, quite unlikely), the fact that you are renting and so you put the member in a bad position if you do things like that, and so on, but you are smart enough to figure that out. Just yes, add their names.

thanks again,

i thought that was gonna be the answers.

We really are looking forward to our relatives joining us, just not them wanting to cook every meal in the room (last time they went in their camper and did that). We just wanted the large rooms, extra bathrooms and full size fridge (no cooking for us).

But if they won't spend the money, I guess we are out of luck with our dining plans and we want them to enjoy the EMHs with us, so we will be adding their names to our reservation.

If everyone is registered in the room, everyone must have the dining plan. If you don't register your relatives, they won't have key cards for EMH. And if they are flying in and want to use the Magical Express service from the airport, their names must be on the reservation.

Already added them to the reservation as of today. We are all driving in 2 different cars, even though we are next door neighbors (they are leaving after work, we are going in the morning).

Now just got to figure out how much it will cost us to eat OOP since they don't want to spend the money for the dining plan (we are okay with this, just happy to have them come with us).

This will just have us eating at less CS places and maybe a few less TS - but we will still be eating out because Thanksgiving day is my DH bday and our anniversary is the same week. Might even costs us less than having the DxDP since we didn't need that much food.

My DS-in-law has decided to make Crawfish fettuccine, Gumbo, Chili and Ribs while we are there (can you tell we are from Louisiana). She even wants to do the big Thanksgiving day feast with Turkey and all the trimmings (she doesn't ride the big rides like the rest of us, so she doesn't mind staying behind and cooking)
