Dining Plan and Disney Gift Cards

Can Disney gift cards be applied to the price of the DDP? I know I can use Disney Rewards Dollars/Points.

Yeah!!! I was going to ask for some Disney Gift Cards for Christmas presents so I can use them for DDP for next years trip!!!

We buy the Disney Gift Cards from our school's SCRIP program. Every few weeks, I buy a $25 card. Last October, I paid for our Dining Plan with the gift cards....all EIGHTEEN of them.

We paid for our DDP with a gift card we had received for adding on. For our next trip I'm thinking of buying enough gift cards to pay for the whole family's dining plan. That way they would be "paid for" ahead of time since we cannot do that over the phone. I like the idea of everything being taken care of pre-trip.

Once the gift cards are bought, is there a deadline or timeframe that they have to be used?
