Dining Plan Activation Timing

Specifically, I plan to do online check-in, and have linked magicbands, so that I will not even need to go to the desk. Then, I should know my room is ready when I get a text. But, if I do this, at what point do they activate my dining plan? I would hate to go to a restaurant after receiving my room-ready-text, only to find out the dining plan is not yet recognized.

If you get a text that your room is ready, then you know your dining plan is activated.

If you don't get the text, it might not be, so you could either go to the resort food court, and find out the "hard way" or go to the front desk and check in.

Make sure your online check-in time is BEFORE any eating you want to do. That should activate your dining plan without any problems.

However, if you do go eat and they don't see your dining plan, just charge it to the room, and then when you get to your resort, go to the front desk and have it fixed. It's not a big deal.
