Dining pkg and meal question

I am posting on budget board because I am trying to save as much money as possible. We want to eat at Nine Dragons but just order 2 adult meals (my 2 kids wont eat off the kid menu) so we'll have two extra kids meals. My question is can we use those towards two adult character breakfasts and just pay for the kids or do we have to use them for the kids breakfasts and pay for ours. Does this make any sense?

OK, IF I understand your scenario correctly, you will be using 2 adult meals ONLY at 9 Dragons so will have 2 KIDS meals extra. Those kids meals will have to be used for kids meals, so you could not use them in exchange for adult meals.

MYW Dining doesn't differentiate between child and adult credits. You can certainly use your 2 table service credits to pay for the two adult breakfasts and pay for your kids meal.

I read somewhere that children had to order off the children's menu where available, so I think BethR is right, because CM has a children's price.

Children have to order off the children's menu where available BUT guests have a right to use the credits for the adult meals and pay cash for the kids meals.

THIS IS THE CORRECT INFORMATION. There are numerous threads on the restaurant board you can search for. Check mousesavers. Look at the Disney's MYW brochure. Once the credits go on your account there is no distinction in the computer between adult and child. Numerous posters are paying for their kids meals and using the extra credits for signature meals.

I was not aware of that there was no differentiation between Adult and Child's Meals on the MYW Dining. :earseek: That is really a way to stretch those meal credits!
So then I stand corrected NHBelle, it looks like you COULD use those extra meals for adults at the character breakfast. Outstanding deal!!! ::yes::

You can certainly pay for the children's meals at both restaurants and use the 4 credits for the adult meals. Disney does not differentiate between adult and child credits on the dining plan!

This brings us to a point we've got.... my daughter's almost 9... since we're not using our tickets on this trip (have old media that we'll use for hoping etc) we're getting 2 adults and 2 junior (which will let DD order off adult menu if she orders) tickets... that way we'll have 4 one day adult tickets to use some time in the future. We're planning of having DH take Libby to a character meal or two some time on trip so we'll pay $$ for her and have the adult use the "card". Son and the "other" adult will probably do Concourse steakhouse since he's not into the characters (never had).
Now to decide w/PS.

Can my DD share a meal with us or do we have to get a kid's meal. She does not like kid's meal food.

I thought that you could use the child credits for adult meals EXCEPT at buffets... :confused3

No, a credit is a credit is a credit, they are all put into one 'bucket' for your entire party.

Here is my example my group is 2 adults and 2 kids and we are there for 8 nights. 4x8=32 so we will have 32 TS credits. They are subtracted from the total as you use them.

You can ALWAYS pay cash for anyone instead of using a credit and you can share a meal at any time except the buffets/all you can eat places. But you can still pay cash for the kids at these places.

There is a fantastic thread over on another board about this and Mary breaks it down well on Mousesavers.com There is also good clear info on touringplans.com

I hope that helps everyone :)

Ooooohhhhh... they aren't going to share meals, they're going to pay separately for the kids. Duh! Maybe I should read more thoroughly next time ;) Thanks for helping me out, HaleyB, I did know that :teeth:
