Dining Package and kids...QUESTION?!?!?!

Ok, we booked the MYW package with 2 adults and 2 children (4 & 7)

Now, I know people are trying to save the kids' meals for adults meals. That is NOT what I'm asking LOL....

What I'm curious about is that neither one of our kids eats a lot at a meal, so they have always split a kids meal at WDW. I don't know if they will this time or not - I'm not sure if they will be bigger eaters when we go in November. So...the question is can we use one of the counter service meals for 2 children? If we can, then we would feed them breakfast with the other one each day. All our table service meals will be all you can eat or character meals, so that would be all separate.

Anyone have an answer for me???

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to. When we use counter service, usually I order while DH stays with the kids or vice versa. The CM at the register wouldn't even know how many people are actually in your party. What would they care if you only order one meal for two kids.

See that's what I was thinking too, because we aren't trying to order an adult meal to split between them - it would be a child's meal, so I personally don't consider it "cheating" like many are trying to do with the new dining plan.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

As I read the Dining booklet you are given a certain amount of meals to use, these measl are combined into one central account maximum flexibility. It also states that these meals must be used during your package stay. Be careful, all unused meals expire at midnight on your package reservations check out date.

This could work to your benefit as you could use the extra kids meals not used for snacks (counter service) for late night snacks ie, Pizza, chix strips/french fries and a drink. I know my DS6 eats very small meals but 4 meals/snacks each day. ::yes::

Have a great trip. :cool1:

Just got everything totally planned for all 9 MYW with Dining, and my kids 4 and 6 will be sharing some counter service meals, as will my Husband and I. I don't think it's cheating, because we will still order off the kids meal menu and why waste food? We're just not as hungry when we're running around in the heat. Good Call! :disrocks:

I hope they have something like this in 2006. But there is no way we could do this with our kids. DS eats ALOT and then DD hardly eats anything. More then likely we would use alot of meals on DS then DD. She would rather eat little things through out the day, so I would see alot of counter service being used for her.

Sorry I couldn't help, but I don't see why shouldn't be able to do what you want. You have already paid for the meals, so you should be able to use them the way you want to.

Sounds good to me! Of course it isn't cheating - you are using one kids meal from your plan to get one kids meal. Who cares who eats what?

I could see us getting (not on the plan), 2 or maybe 3 meals for the 4 of us. My kids are not consistent eaters and I never know who will surprise me by eating or not eating. Drives me crazy at home! I start out with small portions and save the rest for the one who wants seconds. Luckily it's not usually both at the same time!

That makes me feel so much better!!! I just didn't know what the reaction would be because I know there are some that were planning to get more food in general by using the kids counter service to get adult meals since they aren't separated. I know people can get away with it, but I would feel too guilty about it and probably send them a check to make up for the meals when I got home LOL...but that's just me!
