Does anyone else feel like and KNOW their 10-12 year old will NEVER eat $35 worth??
I have been reading forever on these boards about the dining option, and I have read that some pay for their child seperate from the plan- I guess I am not "getting" that because you STILL have to pay the $35 a day for them, they use it or not, so how are you helping it if you pay that PLUS more seperately??
Im just trying to understand the best way to go here. THANK YOU!!! :earsboy:

Hi DISdarling-

I know that my DD(11) will not find anything on the adult menu. She is very picky and not a big eater. We are still planning on using the dining plan and paying for her meals off the kids menu (mac and cheese, pizza, hot dogs). We would then have 4 extra adult sit downs on the plan. We may go to a signature rest. one night and maybe use a character breakfast for one also.

I think it will still be a good plan for our family. My DH really likes to wind down and have a nice dinner during vacation.

Good Luck :sunny:

I'm thinking of doing the same thing (paying for DS11's meals out of pocket from the children's menu, and rolling the extra adult meal over to another day). We may use it for a character breakfast or signature meal.

OK - I've been thinking about doing the same, but the math side of my brain (well, ok - it's not a whole side, but rather a small obscure area) tells me that this is not cost effective because the cost of one dinner show (HoopDeDoo) or signature meal is less than $70 per person and then you're still paying out-of-pocket for the 11 year old's meal.

Could you still come out ahead this way??

I'm having the same thoughts! I have 2 dd's, who will be 10 and 11 when we go and they both eat like birds. I just don't see how this can be a good deal for my family. The thing that I don't get is that the children's menus say that they are for guests 12 and under and even some of the buffets are priced at 11 and up for adults. I think that 12 and up would be more realistic for the MYW plan.
