I'm having a hard time finding out if you are assigned table mates like you are on DCL - do they have you eat with strangers as well on RCCL? Or do you get your own table?

TIA! :goodvibes

When we were on Freedom of the Seas a few years ago we had the same dinner mates every night and the same servers.

If you do traditional dining (usually 6pm or 8:30pm) you will have the same table, waiters, and tablemates every night.

If you do "My Time Dining" (MTD), you can make reservations for different times each night, or you can just show up without reservations.

For traditional dining, you can request a table for just your party, or you can request a large table so you can meet people. It's just a request, though, so you may find yourself with table mates even if you don't want them, or find yourself at a table for just your party even if you requested a larger table. If you choose late dining, you have a better chance of getting what you want, because it's less crowded.

I've never done MTD so I'm not 100% sure how it works, but from what I've heard most ships have a lot of tables for 2 and 4 for MTD so they can seat parties alone.

We sailed on FOS in December 2013 and we had My Time Dining. We requested a table just for ourselves on the RCCL website prior to sailing, and it was granted for every night.

I just sailed on Liberty of the sea with my sister. They had us seated at a table that was a six person but 3 tables were pulled apart to make 3 tables of 2 people.

We've done MTD and it's very flexible. The host or hostess will ask if we want a table alone or to share.

if you do Traditional dining then yes you get a table with the same tablemates every night. you can request a table for just yourselves(before boarding) but they cannot always accommodate.

if you do My Time dining ( requires you to pre pay all your gratuities before you board) then you can eat when you want with whomever you you want( or not) but of you show up without a reservation you may have to wait especially for a table to yourselves.

for breakfast and lunch in the MDR you WILL be seated with strangers as they will fill the large tables up as people come in.
