I am planning an April trip (over Easter Break). Unfortunately, I will have to waitlist for my reservation. My question is....

I was planning on staying on points and purchasing the DDP. However if I cannot stay on my points due to availability and have to book CRO, how do I go about purchasing the DDP. Most of my party has APs so will not be purchasing park tickets. To make this more complicated, one member traveling with us will be purchasing park tickets. I know we all need to be on the same plan...How do I make this work if I do not get my reservation?

Thanks for any advice.

To purchase the dining plan on a regular reservation, you have to either (1) book an AP package [a ticketless package] and I believe you have to be using an AP rate for the room, but I'm not entirely sure on that part or (2) buy a regular package through Disney - room + min. 1 day ticket.

Everyone in the room still has to have the same dining and tickets (or no tickets if you're doing the AP thing). If you do an AP package, the person who needs tickets can just buy them there or discounted ones from a reseller in advance.

If the DP doesnt work out, would it be worth your while to invest in Tables in Wonderland for your group. Only a suggestion...

Good luck with your waitlist---I hope it comes through!!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look at that option as well. It would just be easier if we could do the DDP and have everything paid before we arrive.

I believe you are correct about the rate. You have to be either paying rack rate or using an AP discount to get the "ticketless" package.

You can not use a general public or pin code discount and get the "ticketless" package. I have never tried but that is how it was explained to me.
