So I am thinking about having lunch at one of the disney resorts, from what I have read it may be a good way to get better service and better quality of food. Anyway, I am staying at the Holiday Inn near DTD and was wondering after I have lunch is it possible to to take a shuttle bus from one of the Disney resort hotels - or would I have to take the monorial back to the park and then take a bus back. I am still trying to figure out the transportation thing and keep on wondering if there is a quicker way of getting around by going from some of the disney properties. Any suggestions area appreciated.

It depends on which resort you decided to eat. Some of DTD resorts have boatride to DTD which could be very nice and convenient. And all the resorts have DTD bus ride but a lot of times they stop over at a waterpark.

I don't think resort-to-DTD via bus (or boat if you're at one of the resorts like Port Orleans) should be a problem, in fact, going to DTD directly from a park is not something they appear to be offering right now.

Unless it's changed in the last year, to get to DTD from a park you need to go to a resort first. That is definitely how it was last Sept at DHS -- to get to DTD, they suggesting going to Pop Century first and getting the DTD bus from there.

is correct. There is no direct bus (or any other mode of transportation) service from any park to DTD. You can only access DTD by WDW transportation from a resort. So if you had lunch at a resort, you could return to DTD via bus from there. But, if you then go to a park, you would have to return to a resort to get back to DTD.

Are you asking about taking a bus from the Disney resort to DTD Marketplace, or to your resort near DTD?

If it's your resort, the answer is no. The DTD resorts' shuttles only go to the parks (TTC for the MK), and to DTD Pleasure Island in the evening.

Have lunch at the resort. Hop the resort bus back to DTD. From the bus area head towards Once Upon a Toy, and then cross the intersection to walk to the Holiday Inn - from DTD it's the 2nd hotel on the right as you head down Hotel Plaza Blvd. It's probably about a 10 minute walk including waiting for the light.

When my family stays on hotel blvd. we walk to DTD and hop on the bus there to whatever resort we need to go to. It is also the way to get to the parks quicker as we have found that bus services on hotel blvd. are a bit slower than at DTD. Then to get back to DTD, just hop back on the bus! You may feel it's a bit of a long process, but I find it kind of enjoyable!

I also do it all the time; I stay at POR, so it is very convenient to eat dinner at one of the resorts and then hop on the DTD bus from that particular resort.

Then I take the water taxi back to POR. It really gives you another way of getting from resort to DTD to another resort.
