I am planning on going to WDW in May. My DS will just have turned 10. I was curious about the dining plan. Do you have to buy the plan for everyone in the family. My son would have been fine with the child's meal. However, since I would have to pay $35. a day for him, is it possible for DS and I to split each meal. I was thinking about buying the plan for me, DH and DD7. There is no way I could eat that much food. (I am a vegetarian and typically eat salad and veggies.) When I think about the apps. and dessert for a sit down meal, I would normally split it with someone anyway. I figured for the buffets, I would just pay for an extra adult. Is this okay to do. Please don't flame me. I'm not looking for a loop hole and if it isn't acceptable I wouldn't attempt to do it. I wish they considered 10yrs. old a child because he definitely would be fine with the kids menu. Thanks for any help!

Everyone who is named on your ressie needs to be on the plan. You can't put 3 on and leave one off. Sorry. However I think it is still a pretty good deal for a family of four. $35 x 3= $105+$10=$115 a day. That is after tax and tip. It might be a fairly inexpensive way for your son to try some new things. Additionally you can always split meals with him and use the extra adult credits towards a signature meal or a breakfast buffet. There is nothing wrong with doing this, Disney designed the plan to be flexable.

That's true. I didn't think of that. That would work well! Thanks for the tip!
