Dining Deluxe package confused?

I am 6 months away from our trip to WDW. We have purchased the DDP and i would like information on when you can us the TS vs the counter service. Do you have to do a sit down meal every meal? or can i use the counter service in place of the TS.

On the deluxe plan, you receive three meal credits for each night of your stay. You may use these credits EITHER for TS or CS.

On the basic plan you receive one TS credit and one CS credit per night of your stay. These credits must be used as they are designated.

On either dining plan you can use your meal credits anytime you want. Meaning, if you use up all of your CS credits on your first day on the basic DP, you won't haven any left for the rest of your stay. That is completely allowable on the plan.

Also on either plan your credits expire at midnight on the day you check out, if you haven't used them by then they expire. No refunds, no transfers no banking; use 'em or lose 'em.

The credits are pooled in your account. Meaning if you have 4 people staying 3 nights you'll get 12 snack credits. Let's say Disney Dad uses 6 credits, allowable on the plan; the family may have issues, but the plan will allow him to charge those credits.

I can read the headlines now Disney Dad is killed by his Disney family for using 6 credits

But you are you can use them all at the begining of stay & have to OOP for rest of trip. We always try to have at least one CS for both of us the last day.
