This is our first time going during the holidays and I'm curious if the restaurants/character meals them with the holidays. Also curious if there are certain resorts/restaurants we should try to be sure and hit during the holidays. I know I've seen the food network special on WDW at Christmas and it looks like some of the resorts have wonderful decor for the holidays.
So any suggestions on restuarants we should not miss?

Thanks!!!

One of the restaurants I thought was really cutely decorated at Christmas was the 50's Prime Time Cafe in DHS.

I've only had one character meal at Christmas time, but it's a meal that doesn't exist anymore, Donald's breakfast-o-saurus at AK. It was themed, the characters had on scarves and hats and the buffet was decorated with cute little plastic dinosaurs that had Santa hats on. Maybe the new Tusker House breakfast would do something similar?

I know Hoop Dee Doo does a special Christmas show.

Resort decorations that shouldn't be missed? Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht/Beach Club. Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We have been to wdw for xmas week the last four years. we have made a point of not going to any park on xmas day...too crazy. 2005, we had breakfast (late 10:30am) at BOMA and then went to DTD for a movie and had xmas dinner at Artist Point in WL. AKL and WL are decorated beautfully for the holiday and put you in the xmas spirit. 2006 we went to CP for xmas eve with dinner in Japan, then xmas day had breakfast at 1900PF(great food and decorationa are amazing, especialy the gingerbread house!) and shopped at DTD and then very late dinner at CG (9:15pm) but got there early enought to see Wishes!-great food and wonderful view of MK. Last year we went back to !1900PF for breakfast, then went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms Hotel and dinner at Boma. Great all 3 times and didn't miss the craziness of the parts for the holiday. We miss xmas this year, but wil be doing NYE.

Thanks for the replies. I've never been to the Grand Flordian, what sort of transportation goes to and from there? Because it does look like a do not miss during the holidays.

As far as not-to-be-missed resorts at Christmas time.....I would have to say the WL :santa:. The WL is the best decorated resort during the holidays, IMO :goodvibes. The GF is also very beautiful that time of year ::yes::.

What sort of transportation to you have to use to get to WL? I remember the only time we went there we had to park our car and take a bus in to eat at Whispering Canyon. Is that really the only way or were we misguided?

TIA
