dining and the AP

So, what if I upgrade to an AP and my husband doesn't? Can we get a MYW package when we go again at Christmas?
Yes but you will both have to purchase the same, at least one-day, pass in order to make it a package and be eligible to purchase the MYW Dining Plan.

Here's a question my husband thought of today. If we go again at Christmas and buy a christmas party ticket, will that allow us to buy a meal plan? (Assuming we are using an ap for the rest of the trip)
No, hard-ticketed event passes don't qualify in making a reservation a package.

We are a family of 4 AP holders. My niece, however, is not. When she visits in October, we will take her to WDW, staying on-site for 7 days. Since she'll have a parkhopper, can we purchase the dining plan for the entire party of 5?

Not exactly. You will 1) have to pay rack rate for your room - no AP discount. 2) Everyone in the room has to be on the plan. 3) Everyone in the room has to have MYW tickets for at least ONE day. So you could purchase one day passes for all of you and upgrade your niece's to a 7 day pass when you arrive, but everybody has to have a MYW ticket booked in the package. You would probably save more with the AP room discount than with the dining plan, IMO.

Thanks so much for clarifying this for me. :worship: My head was starting to spin around trying to figure it out. After doing some figuring, I think you're right...we'll stick with the AP discount on the room! ::yes::
