DING timeframe

Just downloaded DING, but so far the dings dates are only valid through 12/17. Need a flight for January. Are the ding dates about 1 month in advance or do they vary.

I have a good price for my dates, so I'll just book rather than wait --- the unknown will be torture! Will sw refund the difference in case a lower ding rate becomes available?

The DING dates do vary. They have already had some for January and even February dates. If I were you I would book now. You can get a refund, usually in credit, from Southwest if you were later able to book at a lower fare.
