I just booked two one way tickets ALB to MCO and MCO to ALB. The DING rate was only available on the return flight so I booked the two one-ways to save money. Am I going to be flagged by security because of the oneway flights? Has anybody experienced this? Thanks in advance.

While there is always a chance of security selecting you for additional screening, The one way tickets are so much more common now. Last month I had a one way from MCO to BOS and even changed the date once and flew thru screening with no problem.

So many of the low fare airlines sell one way fares now, this is not the trigger that it once was.

I think that you will be fine, but I would still arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to your flight.

So many factors play into whether you'll become a selectee that it is sometimes difficulty to predict. In general, yes, one-way bookings are more likely to trigger the selectee random screen than round-trip. But believe it or not, when my family and I fly (non-revenue, meaning we fly for free on a standy-by basis) we are almost ALWAYS made selectees, as the government has been very suspicious of flight crews travelling for leisure... So the moral of the story is no one is assured of NOT being a selectee...

I've read that a one way fare could increase the chance of screening, but didn't find that to be so last December. We did one way to MCO on Delta and returned on SWA and weren't selected for screening. Maybe the computer cross-checked us and noticed we have MANY flights to MCO and figured we were just one of the many Disney fanatics  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

YES YES YES. I Totally Agree with this.

My 7YO DS was flagged last February on both legs of our trip. Just him, not DH, not I, and we were all booked on the same itineraries.

To the OP--I would not worry too much. To us, the extra security, literally added 'maybe' 10 minutes each way. No biggie.
